Emptying is very easy. The top part has a handle that simply lifts off. I then use a large trash bag to remove contents.

I have the Bonsai 6 sheet micro-cut shredder and YES, the results after shredding looks just like confetti. If its high security your looking for, this shredder definitely does the job.
