Ring Indoor Camera (2nd Gen): A Solid Security Option for Indoor Monitoring
The Ring Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) is a strong contender in the indoor security camera market, offering a balance of affordability, functionality, and user-friendliness. Here's a detailed breakdown of its strengths and a couple of areas for consideration:Strengths:Clear Video Quality: While not the absolute sharpest on the market, the 1080p HD video provides a clear picture for monitoring your indoor space. You can easily identify people and objects within the frame.Excellent Night Vision: The Ring Indoor Camera shines (pun intended) in low-light conditions. The color night vision delivers a crisp image, allowing you to see details even in the dark. This is a significant advantage over cameras that rely solely on black and white night vision.Top-Notch Motion Detection and App Features: The Ring app offers a suite of robust motion detection features. You can customize motion zones, set sensitivity levels, and receive real-time alerts when motion is detected. The app itself is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to control the camera, access live feeds, and review recorded footage.Physical Privacy Switch: A unique and appreciated feature is the physical privacy cover. This mechanical switch provides a tangible way to block the camera lens and disable audio recording, offering peace of mind when you don't need monitoring.Areas for Consideration:Microphone Performance: While the microphone picks up some audio, it can be a bit hit-or-miss. In quieter environments, you might miss crucial conversations or sounds.Overall:Despite the minor quibble about microphone range, the Ring Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) delivers a compelling package. The combination of clear video, exceptional night vision, and a feature-rich app makes it a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use indoor security camera. If you prioritize crystal clear audio recording, you might want to explore some alternative options, but for most users, the Ring Indoor Camera offers excellent value and exceeds expectations.

Peace of mind while traveling
Needed peace of mind while traveling and used the privacy cover for times I was home. It covers the entire living room and hallway in my place nicely. The motion sensor is spot on and if it’s your first time signing up for Ring they give you the first 30 days of recordings for free. I assume if I don’t continue that it will only show live shots. The app is excellent and easy to use.

My Ring Cam
Right in my price range. Thought I would need help to install but it was super easy. I love the security it proves with the brightness and excellent performance and appearance or quality of footage.

A good indoor camera
I purchased this Ring camera to pair with my Ring doorbell and keep an eye on my dog when away. I mounted it in our living room so it can see the living room and dining room. The amount of angle I can view is impressive. The images are clear and the night vision is also very good. The motion detection works well and the app allows me an easy way to view things as needed. You do need to pay for the yearly subscription to save your videos but I think the price isn't terrible.

Good camera. Nice sharp picture.
This camera works well. Picture is pretty good. It's very sharp but the wide angle bends the vertical lines. That's not a deal breaker.Night vision is very good. Audio is excellent. I like the privacy cover. Now if only Apple would stop forcing people to accept their volume levels and allow us to set our own levels, that would be nice.

So far so good
The cameras were very easy to install. Simple and easy to understand instructions. The video quality is pretty good and it loads most times very fast. The only problem I have with them is sometimes when watching the playback videos it skips and you miss a portion of what happened. And it's frustrating. Other than that, so far they a good cameras!

Perfect mobile option for moving around the house.
I purchased this camera to use around the house depending on the need. For example, I have it trained on my 3-D printer so I can monitor longer print jobs while away from the print room. When it's not being used there, It's in my garage monitoring the garage door activity. We also placed it on the living room fireplace mantle while we were on vacation to keep an eye on the house - you can also monitor audio from the camera. The picture quality of the 1080p camera is pretty impressive, as is the dynamic range and low-light capability. When not in use, simply slide the cover over the lens, and it goes to sleep.Great versatility and integrates well with the rest of our Ring ecosystem. Also, at $60 (at least that's what it was when I purchased it), it won't be a budget buster compared to the added security you get.

These are great!
I bought these to help me take care of my elderly parents that live a distance away. It has been a great help in monitoring their activities. They have caregivers in the home. It helps in working with them as well. You can monitor and see what is necessary without being obtrusive. They were easy to set up. (Even for me, not being all that tech savvy) just read the directions carefully. It has made things a lot easier because at any time, you can look in to see how things are going. You can rewind to check times of occurrences, and listen to information given, ie, nurses visiting, doctors, etc. Would highly recommend them.
