Cracking Contraptions:Cracking Contraptions is a showcase of 10 short films about Wallace's wonderfully eccentric ideas to make your life easier. Review: Wallace & Gromit: Meticulous Craft, Enduring Charm - Aardman Animations represents stop-motion craftsmanship at its finest—painstaking work that shows in every frame. This complete collection showcases years of meticulous artistry where animators moved plasticine figures millimeter by millimeter to create fluid motion that computer animation still struggles to replicate with the same warmth. The brilliance lies in the character dynamic. Wallace, the cheese-obsessed inventor, bumbles through elaborate contraptions and harebrained schemes with unshakeable optimism. Gromit, his long-suffering canine companion, communicates volumes through eyebrow raises and silent exasperation, serving as both the brains of the operation and its moral compass. The relationship captures something essential about loyal friendship—affection persisting despite constant frustration. Nick Park’s direction maintains perfect tonal balance. The humor works across generations without condescension—visual gags for children, drier wit for adults, and technical ingenuity that appeals to anyone who appreciates craft. Each short film builds comedic momentum through increasingly elaborate mishaps, culminating in satisfying chaos that somehow resolves itself. The feature-length entries expand the scope without losing the intimacy that makes the shorts work. “The Wrong Trousers” and “A Close Shave” demonstrate how much narrative complexity claymation can sustain, while the feature films prove the format viable for longer storytelling. This collection represents stop-motion animation before digital shortcuts became standard—pure craftsmanship in service of genuinely charming storytelling. Essential viewing for anyone who appreciates animation as art rather than mere product. Review: Great entertainment! - So fun! Great for kids and kids at heart!

Second thing was the charm Shout Factory! 😊
I wrote a review back when I bought the Blu ray collection that Shout Factory! had a rare miss with one of their releases. It has zero special features and no digital copy. This time Shout Factory! has lived up to their legacy of releasing great quality releases with plenty of special features. The 4 short films are on a single 4K UHD disc and they come with all the vintage special features you've seen from other releases for the last 20 years and nothing new added other than being in 4K. The 10 shorts are on the 2nd disc which is a standard Blu ray disc. It has nothing new as far as bonus features. For those wondering, no they didn't include Curse of the Were Rabbit or Vengeance Most Fowl in either digital, Blu ray, DVD, or 4K UHD discs. There is a more expensive 4k collection that comes with Curse of the Were Rabbit but from what I learned chatting with ai it's a Blu ray disc and not in 4K.

A classic collection with great features
I really enjoyed this collection. Wallace & Gromit never gets old, and it is wonderful to have all of the episodes together in one place. The picture and sound quality are very good, and the extra features are a great addition, especially if you are a long-time fan. It is a very entertaining and charming set, perfect for both adults and children. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Wallace & Gromit or classic British animation.

Best way to watch these movies!
Love it! Very fun watching some of my favorite childhood films in 4k. Stop motion films specifically have been some of my favorites to see remastered. Very cool being able to see all the fingerprints left in the clay and whatnot.

Good value, issues with upscaling
There is some artifact from the AI upscaling process that should have been addressed before release, but overall these look pretty good in 4K and $15 for 4 W&G movies is very solid pricing

All the Wallace & Gromit shorts in one volume
If you like clay animation and good British humor, you'll love Wallace and Gromit. This is the entire collection of Wallace and Gromit shorts, including one I have not previously know about. There are also a couple full length movies as well available separately. Good wholesome family fun. Aardman Animation also did the kids movie "Chicken Run." Enjoy!

Can’t say enough about the enjoyment I get from these stop-motion animations. Harry Harryhausen would be proud! The stories are clever, entertaining, and well-crafted. I find the shorts more fun than the longer movies.

A great collectors item. 4K is adequate. Audio needs some work. The audio rating drops it from a 5 star to a 3 star.
