An excellent Bulb if you're looking to make your own moth trap!

I bought this after reading reviews from a moth trapping blog which tested multiple UV actanic and MV bulbs, the guide wasn't wrong about this bulb, it works well and produces great catch rates without blinding my neighbor's like a MV bulb does and without the need for choke electrics. Highly recommended.

Bulb didn’t work when I received it. Tried in a couple of places. So sent it back and got a refund. Ordered another from somewhere else.

Can be used for trapping moths (a hobby of mine). Not too bright but easily seen by insects.

The fly killer bulb lights up fine but doesn’t attract or kill many insects. Not as effective as expected for the price.

I bought this to replace a UV blacklight I had been using for years in my home made moth trap. My average catch at my current address, using the old blacklight had been around 10-20 moths a night. I tried this actinic lamp last night (in slightly less than ideal weather conditions)and was nearly overwhelmed with the size of the catch this morning. Obviously it's never going to match a mercury vapour trap, but if, like me you can't use one of those for fear of disturbing the neighbours, this lamp will bring in enough moths to keep you happy.
