Fits perfectly in my ProOne filter. And the water tastes great. The reason for the low review is that these filters take FOREVER to filter. We filled up the to reservoir almost 2 hours ago, and maybe 20% of the water has filtered through in this time. With 5 people in this house drinking water this just isn't cutting it.

Water tastes Bitter after six fills. I keep running water through my Berkey with these new filters and thought I had done way more than enough till I tasted it tonight. It's so bitter and my mouth got so dry I dumped it out and am back to running water through it. I'm counting on these working!!

Recently, my husband and I joined the idea of ordering a gravity charcoal filtered water filtration system. During the summer, it is the only water that I am able to safely drink due to our water coming from an outdoor spring that during the hot and long days of the summer months, the sun bakes bacteria into the spring and therefore makes it unsafe to drink. Well, when the filtration system was put to work, I have been using it and refilling it every so often, but if the filters in the system get too old or too full of contaminants, then this is no good any longer. These replacement filters for the system seem perfect, they look like they will fit, seem easy to install, and should definitely put my mind at ease for this summer and for the next summer. I love that they are also charcoal as well. Nice!

These ceramic filters fit well in my DIY water filtration system. With my hard well water, I find that I need to clean the filters occasionally. They were easy to install. I have not had professional testing done, but the water tastes good.

The item arrived as two long corrugated boxes taped together. Within each box was a pasteboard box wrapped in bubble wrap. Within each pasteboard box was a ceramic water filter element that was also wrapped in bubble wrap (along with a microfiber cleaning cloth wrapped in plastic). They were unbroken and ready to use. There were no instructions provided other than what was in the product description. These filter elements or candles, as they are often called, are physically identical to several other brands of sintered diatomite filter element that I have used in the past. The box notes that the formulation includes activated carbon. These can also be pressurized within limits shown on the box, but they are predominantly for gravity fed use. I washed off the exterior dusty surfaces of the two filters before installation, and they then installed in my unit easily, gasket in the upper container and nut in the lower container. These 7-inch units were shorter than my particular housing - which will hold up to a 10 inch. The candles filtered reasonably quickly and the first two gallons were visibly clean, but I disposed of those initial filter results out of an abundance of caution, to eliminate any initial filter particulate. Note that no "priming" is required of these types of filters (as is apparently required of some other types) - just install in the upper housing and let the water feed itself through them into the lower housing. I did check the gasket seal when I filled the unit the second time, by lifting the top to watch the water output and verify that all the water was coming through the filter and out the outlet, and not around the gasket and nut. These filter elements did NOT come with any type of independent certification of ability. The box describes the claims made for filtering, but does not support that with data. Due to the lack of any lab results I have to take off a star.

So I got these, took out the plugs, and they fit just like new. And they doubled my water output as well. I don’t know why they didn’t come with the filter in the first place, but I’m glad this set was available to remedy the issue.

I use *both* white ceramic and black charcoal filters in my Big Berkey. Obviously, I got these to replace the long-used filters we had. They fit our Big Berkey just fine. Water comes through nice and clear, and tastes filtered (our water isn't pleasant straight out of the tap). I just wish there was some documentation included, or a link pointing to, third-party certification and testing results for these.
