Will this unit #b604 work on a 5v dc input and still be loud ? and when connecting to 5v dc which is negative and positive anode or cathode ?

It work at 5V DC, and it's very loud. Red wire is positive(first pole at jack)

yes. The working current is 100mA at 5VDC power bank, it's 50mA at 3VDC.

What is the current range this can handle? I don't see it listed. This laptop 110v->12v power cable is rated 8 amps.. I'm sure that's too high.

I dont know what do you mean with range . I'm a B103 User , so I dont have this power cable , I have just the wires connected to a WiFi plug and in case of movement (detected by a sensor in a defined room and when nobody is at home) siren is activated automatically . (just an idea about possible use)

You should add a power adapter(12V DC) or 5VDC(phone charger), and because the siren work at 2 to 12VDC. The power from plug is 110VAC.
