This is a wonderful beginner plasma cutter. I was skeptical until doing some research and finding out that some are contact start the surface you are cutting has to be bare metal. This one can cut painted and rusted metal which is exactly what I needed. It’s easy to set up and worked perfectly first try. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great beginner plasma cutter at a great price!

Pretty darn good for a cheap unit. You Better have a big air compressor and 220v available because it does not like 120v unless it’s on the minimal setting cutting thin metal. it also uses a lot of air. I have a 30 gallon compressor I wouldn’t recommend anything smaller than 15-20 . Light weight very portable cuts through 1/4 inch steel easy and easy to set up. I do wish the air hose was different though

It’s a good value if you get a machine that actually works, I literally just got this yesterday and put it together to find out that it has a bad internal ground connection problem. How I found this issue, was whether or not I had the ground connected, it did the same thing. Then to top it off, good luck getting support from ArcCaptain. Tried customer support twice at two different times, no ones available, no call back option. 1star until my issue is resolved

I never used a plasma cutter before, ordered this one and set up was easy. Only needed to get a part to hook up air line to my compressor from hardware store for quick connect fitting. Took some steel I had and made this cat shape to cut out. Set to 120v and 25 on the dial, and air to 45 psi. Cut this out like butter with a hot knife! I never used a cutter before and it was quite easy but I know my skills will improve with practice. It tripped my outlet I guess a gfi so I took out my generator to power it up and had no problems. Seems like a good quality machine and a great price point. Only complaint is the air filter drain knob was chipped/cracked when I took it out of the box so I emailed support and waiting for a reply, may call instead of waiting for an email. Happy with my purchase!

I bought this unit a year ago. The assembly instructions were confusing, and I ended up hooking up the air regulator backwards. Since it wouldn't work, I contacted the Amazon customer service contact point. I was told I would have to buy to parts. I let it sit for close to a year and again contacted customer service, but via ARCCAPTAIN website, not Amazon. I received quick responses and within a couple days they had shipping the new parts (from China) at no cost. I assembled the machine and have tried it out. It works quite well. I like the guard at the tip which keeps one from shorting out the tip like other models I have had. I knocked off one star on account of the confusing instructions.

I have had this little chinaman for about a month now , so far so good ! I have been welding and fabricating 40+ years . I have cut mild steel, Stainless steel, and aluminum without any issue. I haven't done any big jobs yet , but does cut pretty well . Does not seem to get to hot on small jobs 75 PSI seems to be the sweet spot on the air. I will update review after further use. For the price point I'm pretty impressed remember its 250 $ not 2500 $ !

I have had for 3 months now, works perfect, I am restoring a 47 Chev truck and this works great for cutting repair patches, the owners manual is pretty much useless, but there a Facebook pages and tons of videos. I added an extra air filter to mine, it is set 10 psi higher than the one on the machine. I use it on 220 only, I also bough a extension cord for it and a 3 way split so I don't have to keep unplugging and plugging between it and my MIG welder.

You know how when you talk about something and it pops up on Facebook? Well this was it and I'm glad I bought it. I cut up a whole roof on a tractor trailer and made it a flat bed. I bought the 50 piece Consumable kit and only needed to replace 1 cup and 1 tip on it during a 2 day period. First thing I did was take the metal guide off the torch end so I could get in tighter spots. There was no fitting to hook to the air was the only downfall but pretty easy to rig something up.

Works surprisingly well. Does all it is advertised to do.

Following directions to connect everything and did some test cuts. Exactly what I need for my auto restoration project! Small and light the ArcCaptain Cut 55 is worth every penny.

*Update to below* Arccaptrain did reach out almost immediately to help resolve this issue. They have updated the regulator and outlet tubing which they offered to replace without delay. They we're very good to deal with and provided excellent post purchase service. The supplied poly tubing used to connect the outlet of regulator to the air feed fitting was cut too short to prevent kinking. This is fixed by swapping regulator inlet barbed fitting to the outlet side & adding a quick connect air chuck fitting to the regulator inlet. Use a piece of the supplied 5' of tygon type tubing and gear clamps to plumb the regulator outlet to the air feed fitting. With a 20 gallon compressor and dedicated circuit, this machine can handle 3/8" cuts without any problems on 120v. Haven't had the need to use 240v. Arccaptrain has addressed and corrected this issue quickly and was great to deal with.
