Takes the guesswork out.
This just takes all the guesswork/ maths out of making a series of holes equally spaced apart. Don't be fooled into getting the cheap versions of these, as they have a lot of slop in them and are really inaccurate. I wouldn't trust these for engineering work, (not that they're designed for that) but they're good enough and do exactly what they were designed for.

Great tool
always had trouble with pencil and paper time wasting working out equal distancing. Now in the past set it mark it then if longer pieces just ensure stays sam move up to last mark continue marking. Has couple metal pins and four rubber tips for pins but not sure for what pins are for so contacted Trend. Recommend its far better quality than last one I had( not Trend)

Point To Point
The trend M/P2P01 POINT TO POINT SCALE UP TO 600mm This is a most useful tool if you are marcking out lots of holes in wood or metal. I recently made a patch in the bonnet of my vintage tractor and used small M3 set srews closely set to give the impression of riveting. The point to point was excellent at setting out the fine spacing without the need to get the pen and paper out to work out the divisions and the measuring. I have loaned it to a colleague so he can have a go on some of his projects. It has many uses where one might want to set out say fold lines. The tool is well enough made perhaps a little flimsy but certainly value for money.

Good but could be cheaper
A bit pricey for what it is but does its job

Just what I always wanted (but didn't know it existed)
Perfect for an old duffer like me. I have both numeracy and literacy problems and can never work out spacing's correctly. This is perfect for setting out screw holes etc when, for example, you know how far in from each end you want to start and then use this device to get the intermediate ones 100% right. Even with a calculator I still get this wrong - until now that is.

Ok for roughing out…
Ok for roughing out on small jobs but not accurate enough for fine woodworking as not all the same spacing

Works well
Accurate with no 'wobble' extends quite a long way too
