Great All-in-One ESP32 Display Board
The DIYmalls 2.8" ESP32-2432S028R is an excellent all-in-one board for DIY and IoT projects. It combines an ESP32 with a 2.8" touchscreen display, making it perfect for quick UI-based builds without extra wiring. The screen is clear and responsive enough for basic interfaces, and it works well with Arduino IDE and ESP32 tools. Setup can take a bit of tweaking (especially display drivers and power requirements), but once configured it performs reliably. Overall, a powerful, affordable, and fun development board — ideal for makers who want an integrated display solution.

Not a bad little board, see my review for pin diagram
Not a bad board, it does need the display inverted if you use any tutorials like those on the random nerd site, so after "tft.Init()", put "tft.invertDisplay(1)" and the colours will.come out right. Remember the semicolon at the end of each line! Also the backlight pin is 21 and you need to turn that on in the code to get a visible display. If you are messing with these you will know what I mean. SD card interface is good but shares spi bus with touch and screen so use hspi for this function and it will be fine, or you get panic reboots and it would take a bit of head scratching to figure out. I've attached a pinout for these boards which should help you get going.

Cheap Yellow Display
Coloqually now known as the cheap yellow display (CYD), plenty of internet support and a very useful esp32 with built in display for standalone or wifi connectivity.

Didn't come with a case
The product is OK. Works well once you get it loaded up correctly but the first one I received was faulty. Still though on the second order I didn't receive the clear case that it's listed to come with.

Works great!
Apart from the DIYMalls engraving on the back of the mounting plates making it a bit annoying to take off protective layer, this product is great! It came with a demo program preloaded which was useful to make sure all the hardware worked. The seller sent the user manual upon request (according to the item description) and it looked fine -- similar to the Random Nerd Tutorials "Getting Started with ESP32 Cheap Yellow Display Board" which the seller also provided a link to. And that's a key piece of information: this kind of display is often called a "cheap yellow display", and there are lots of resources online for working with them. I jumped straight to PlatformIO instead using rzeldent/esp32-smartdisplay on GitHub and I definitely recommend that approach if you're somewhat familiar with writing for ESP32s. I used the esp32-2432S028Rv2 board, and then had to manually invert the colors: after smartdisplay_init, add: lv_display_t* display = lv_display_get_default(); const esp_lcd_panel_handle_t panel_handle = static_cast<esp_lcd_panel_handle_t>(display->user_data); esp_lcd_panel_invert_color(panel_handle, false); Using LVGL let me make a pretty cool interface with very little effort. I'll definitely be getting more of these for future projects.

Good Product (worth your money)
I recently got this and I have to say I’m impressed. Despite its low cost, it performs very well. The build quality is great for the price, and it functions exactly as expected. Setup was straightforward, Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable yet capable device i recommend this. Perfect for what i was doing.
