One of the best full frame cameras for the price, easily
Couldn't be happier with my decision to buy the S9! I chose it over the a6700 and don't regret it at all. The pictures are nice and sharp, dynamic range is solid, and I love the LUT feature and how easy it is to install them. The Lumix lab app is killer... I'm able to edit a photo as much as I'd want to and rarely take them over to my laptop for Lightroom or luminar neo both of which I got for free and use from time to time. I love the feel of the s9 in the hands, sans grip and all. I actually bought a grip but never use it ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ it's just not necessary. The fact it doesn't have a hotshoe doesn't bother me, nor does the no EVF like it does many. I'm fine using the screen which gets plenty bright for outdoors... I even have an APS-C lens I use with the s9 with great results (Sigma 10-18mm which ends up being a 15-27mm or so with the crop) surprisingly... I didn't see the lens was for APS-C cameras until it was too late so I get use out of it even though I have the 16mm f1.8 from Viltrox which is a GREAT lens. Overall I'd give it a solid 9.5/10 and I didn't even get into video since I don't shoot much video at all.

No more creative friction- Not just a workhorse camera, it's also a YOU camera
This camera and Lumix came a long way. It takes the friction away from creating, adds that spark that I once found with Fujifilm, and helps me create without dreading the editing and post-production. Fuji film sims? How about luts, the ability to reprocess the raw with a different lut in camera, Lumix Lab app where you can access your shots and apply your looks, download luts from other creators, build your own etc. Quick, on the go, frictionless workflow. But, this camera isn't just that. It's a workhorse in true Lumix fashion. 6k open gate, 10 bit, 4k60 of course everything you need. I thought it would be a C cam in my paid shoots, but I find myself even doing paid shoots with it solo because if it's convenience. If I was to be critical of it in comparison to others like a Fuji, Id say yes it's got an electronic shutter so be mindful when shooting under mixed light sources and use syncro scan. People do need to stop wishing it was this all around perfect camera that had a grip, viewfinder, hot shoe and mechanical shutter, because at that point it's an s5iix. The S9 is exactly what it is, if you want the other specs, buy the body that Lumix made for those specs. The S9 is special. The price point is special, the promos are special. The feeling is special. The workflow is special. The change it can spark is special. I'm someone who got into this craft as a passion and hobby, went to paid work and never ever touched my camera gear if it wasn't for work. I started to dread it- I wanted to create my own things, but the friction would discourage me. I picked up the S9 for me, and it's refreshing to feel I can simply grab my S9 bag and go create magic that looks like it was shot on cinema cameras. I can snap a photo spontaneously when out, and it not sit on an SD indefinitely from the work entailed. I can just grab that photo with the lab app (and the pairing is seamless btw) and be done. Anyways, I can go on. But if you were like me with the friction of creating, and if you're looking at other options like Fuji X100VI, XE5 etc- this is a good pick. It's an all around great camera, but also a YOU camera. Use it to go make some stuff for yourself!

Game changer
Would be closer to the perfect travel camera, if it had an evf and a hot shoe for flash or other accessaries. A work around for evf issue is an optical view finder. The accuracy of af focus is good enough just using the optical and not having to look at the lcd for confirmation. Perfect xpan digital replacement camera. Having custom luts real time is also a game changer whether you shoot video or pics.

New favorite camera
Iโve been shooting photos/video for just over 10 years now, and the S9 makes it that much more fun. With it being so compact & simple to use, itโs like an extension of me. That means less time worrying about the gear & more time enjoying the moment Iโm capturing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a small yet extremely capable camera!
