I've been wearing this watch for a few days now and I'm really happy with it. It looks good on my wrist, the strap is comfortable, and it's easy to read the time. I like the simple, classic design. It seems to keep time accurately. It's a good everyday watch that goes with everything.

I had mixed feelings about this watch initially as I love rose gold colours, but wasn’t sure if the black font watch face would look too ‘heavy’. Firstly, the tin it came in looks lovely, so that was a good start to my unboxing experience. The watch inside is in a plastic bag so no chance of any damage in that respect. There’s also removable film around the fastener so even more protection, which is what you’d expect given the high price point.The strap was the easiest I’ve come across to undo as all I had to do was push in the buttons on its side to release it, no finding a ridge and pulling it open. I have smaller wrists and was thinking the strap size would be an issue, and it is a bit big on me, but not so big that I can’t wear it without removing links. In fact with it being slightly big, and what with its heavier weight I thought it looked really good on my wrist, so I will leave the size as is.I don’t think all the product pictures do this watch justice, it looks much better in reality, and you can feel and see the quality too.

I like a watch, and I currently have several - automatic, manual and quartz movements in assorted styles and colours. Some have metal straps, some leather. Most are everyday watches a couple are fine quality and most are somewhere in between. This is my first Fossil watch, and I have to say I like it.The tin it arrived in is very attractive. Most of my 'everyday' watches live in a dedicated box with drawers, only the 'big name' watches live in their presentation cases or in watch winders. I'll probably keep this one in its tin as it's so pretty, but I can see the tin might be used as a keepsake tin if the watch is used every day.This watch itself has a very traditional look which I like, I'm not interested in a something that monitors my health, plays music or allows me to make phone calls and I much prefer an analogue face to a digital display. I'm a bit old school and I want my watches to look good and keep good time, and this watch does jprecisely that. I also like that it doesn't have a date window - I find it irritating to have to change the date on a watch when the month isn't 31 days.From the images on the listing I thought this would be quite a delicate watch, but it's actually quite a bit bigger and more weighty than I thought it might be. This is fine, I find that as I get older I prefer a bit more weight in a watch - delicate little cocktail watches no longer suit my wrist.There are some nice details on this - the third hand for seconds is nice, very few ladies watches seem to have that nowadays. There are minute markings in a grey band around the edge of the face so no having to guess 'is it 12.03 or 12.04?' The numbers are Roman numeral and I do like that Fossil have continued the traditional convention of using IIII instead of IV to denote the number 4 - most quality watches use this, particularly on octagonal watches as it better balances the VIII (8) on the other side of the watch. The listing says the face is cream, which is correct, but it's a little more than that as it has a fine chevron or herringbone pattern - very subtle, but a really nice touch.This is a solid, traditional style watch that looks and feels quality and wouldn't be out of place in any setting, it isn't a fine quality watch but it's certainly a cut above the average. So far it's kept perfect time which I had no doubt it would.At £119.19 (as at 10 December 2024) I think this is a very well priced, quality watch that would make a thoughtful and much appreciated gift. I like it a lot and it's now joined my collection.
