Full of Compromises
I wanted an adjustable beam for my dives and paid a premium for this light. I also liked the 21700 battery with built-in USB charging, which can help in some remote situations. As with all Oractorches, the whole package has a premium feel. As expected, the wider openings work well, but the point beam is ugly and distracting. It is square-shaped, clearly showing 4 LED lights, their separations, dirt particles, and imperfections. The beam has a very pronounced yellowish hue at the edges, becoming more distracting as the beam narrows. Also, I didn't like the in-between size of this flashlight. It fits nicely in the hand but is too big for a pocket and small for a Goodman's handle. It's too early to tell, but the zoom mechanism appears short-lasting with many immersions, salt, and sand. Consider carrying two fixed lights instead of ZD710.

Great service from Outdoor Equipment Experts
Purchased the Orcatorch ZD 710 MK2 light for a dive trip to Vancouver island in August of this year. The switch on the light failed after 9 dives, unfortunate but stuff happens. I contacted Ashley of Outdoor Equipment Experts and Ashley arranged to have the light replaced no charge. I received the replacement on October 14th and just got in the water with it yesterday. Light worked great, very bright and the adjustable beam makes it very versatile under water. This light made my backup light look dull. Thank you Ashley for the great service

Wow, it’s a machine!
Great diving torch, one unit to rule them all. Flood for making the reef colours pop/photography and spot to pierce through the murk and find dem crays or wreck penetration exploring. A real game changer.

Best flashlight I own
Title: One of the Best Dive Lights I’ve Used — The Adjustable Beam Is a Game Changer! As an avid scuba diver and Divemaster, I’ve used several different underwater lights over the years, including multiple OrcaTorch models. I spend a lot of time underwater, whether it’s recreational diving, night diving, or assisting with scuba training. I can honestly say the OrcaTorch ZD710 MK2 has quickly become one of my favorite dive lights! What really sets this light apart is the adjustable beam. Being able to go from an incredibly tight, powerful spotlight to a wide flood beam with a simple twist is fantastic. When you’re diving in a quarry, especially at night, having that kind of versatility makes a huge difference. You can concentrate the beam to see farther ahead or widen it to illuminate a much larger area. It’s like having two different dive lights in one! The brightness is impressive, and I really appreciate having multiple power settings depending on the conditions. The rechargeable battery is another convenient feature, and the overall construction feels like the quality I’ve come to expect from OrcaTorch. I’ve been an OrcaTorch fan for quite some time, but the ZD710 MK2 really stands out. It’s a well-thought-out light that offers the flexibility I want when diving in different conditions. If you’re a scuba diver looking for a powerful, versatile underwater flashlight, I would absolutely recommend giving this one a look. Whether you’re an experienced diver or just getting started with night diving, this is one light worth considering. Great job, OrcaTorch! You’ve made a light that I’m genuinely excited to dive with!

Bright, Reliable, and Built for Adventure
I recently had the opportunity to test this dive light on several recreational dives in Bonaire, and it exceeded my expectations in nearly every category. From shallow reef explorations to deeper wreck dives with limited visibility, the light delivered consistent performance and impressive brightness. The beam is powerful and provides the ability to focus the beam, making it easy to illuminate underwater features, marine life, and navigation points even in murky conditions. The color temperature provides natural-looking illumination, helping reveal the true colors of the underwater environment that are often lost at depth. One of the standout features is the build quality. The housing feels rugged and durable, with solid construction that inspires confidence underwater. The seals remained watertight throughout multiple dives, and I experienced no issues with leaks or condensation. Battery life was another strong point. On a full charge, the light easily lasted through 13 dives without a noticeable drop in brightness. It has a simple charging system and comes we a spare battery just in case. The switch mechanism is easy to operate. Multiple brightness settings provide flexibility for different diving conditions. The only minor drawback is that the light is slightly heavier than some compact alternatives, but this is a reasonable trade-off for its durability and performance. Overall, this dive light is an excellent choice for recreational and advanced divers alike. Its combination of brightness, reliability, battery life, and rugged construction makes it a valuable addition to any dive kit. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable underwater lighting solution.
