This e-reader is the absolute love of my life. I’ve travelled around 3 states with her in long gruelling journeys and I wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s the light of my life. Now onto the real review: its’s very easy to use. And especially with Calibre. Books are super easy to import in. My tip is to turn books into KEPUB and set the page settings to ‘Kobo Reader’ when converting books. I’m also using the screensaver feature to my full advantage! I watched a few videos on how e-readers work, and true to them: you only ever lose battery when you turn it on or off or when you’re interacting with it, like turning pages. So the battery last several days or weeks even if you’re reading constantly. It doesn’t lose any battery in sleeping mode. Lost like 7% battery when I finished a 400 paged book on a train. Which took me several hours because I had to pause a lot and sightsee the beautiful hills of Assam and fields of Bengal, haha. I have the BW version (the only Clara available on Amazon India) and I love reading on it. Brightness can be adjusted with ease with just a swipe. There is a small glare but it’s not bad. The words are clear and the screen is white and crisp. My hands are a bit big and as I’ve shown in the photos posted, this device fits in my hands quite snugly. I can access the whole screen with my thumb while also holding the device carefully. She’s perfect! The screen is big enough to not be an eyesore but it’s not too big to be an inconvenience. Is it worth the price? I thought the price was too much in India considering how rare reading is here. While my order was in transit I thought I regretted spending so much on a device that can only hold books and audiobooks. But all those regrets vanished as soon as it came in my hands lol. Still, the happiness of it won’t cloud my judgement for others: I don’t think it should be worth the amount it is listed for. They should lower the price on Amazon India at least. And no cases should cost thousands. The accessories are either not available or cost thousands. That’s one con I guess. ALSO: I was confused between a kindle and kobo but the recent behaviour of amazon kindles (updates that make sure the older still working devices don’t work anymore) really put me off buying it. I don’t have any previous kindle or any other e-reader to compare my experience to, but I wouldn’t trade my kobo for anything. I think it’s perfect for me.

This is my first e-reader, I would’ve gone for the B/W model but the prices were the same for both of them, so I went for the magical gift of colours. The software is intuitive and transferring your local books from laptops is a breeze. The price may seem on the higher end, but if you’re a book nerd, it’ll worth it trust me. Getting decent accessories at an affordable prices is the only con I can say. The screen quality is actually great, even tho people said the resolution won’t be as sharp and it will be darker, I adore the grainy effect, it looks like a newspaper. And the compact size is perfect for me, i can easily carry it in my bag without it feeling like a liability.

I switched from kindle to kobo for the exact reason that most other people did. And I gotta say, I couldn’t be happier with my decision! No signing up, no logging in. Just attach the kobo to your laptop with a USB cable, drop your e-books into the kobo folder, and you’re ready to read. When you’re first setting it up, it does ask you to create an account. But you can very easily bypass this. Just google it. I promise you it’s not hard and even someone not very tech savvy could do it. You can absolutely have a privacy focused experience with the kobo. My e-reader needs are very basic. I don’t care in the least about bells and whistles. Which is why this model suits me. The most important thing for me is that I own the books on my device and they won’t just disappear someday. I did think of getting the color version. However, my eyes are not what they used to be so I need all the crispness and clarity i can get. The color versions seemed to be a little grayish and dull compared to the black and white version. Which I believe would have made it harder on my eyes. I watched about fifty videos and the screen on the color ones is indeed duller unless you really crank up the backlight. But then that means your battery depletes faster. On the black and white version, I have the backlight at about 20% and the text looks clear to me. So less charging, more reading. Overall, I’m very happy. This is a fantastic basic model and I am in love. If it turns out it’s not durable or something gets messed up over time, I’ll return and update this review.

It is good to use but there should also add indian languages in it.

Ordered a month ago for Rs. 11300, but the delivery never happened due to negligence from the delivery partner "DELHIVERY" (WORST COURIER SERVICE). But I think that was for good. Later got to order after a week for a discounted price of Rs. 8350 with HDFC offer. Great deal. Great Screen - Awesome to read during day & night. You dont need to switch on the brightness on day while a level 2 of brightness is more than enough for the night. Warm light is also awesome. Great Battery Life - You will get a minimum of 1 week battery life. Storage - Added over 300 books, still got 11GB left. Total usable space is about 12.3 GB Lightweight to hold, fits in small hands too very comfortably. Decent UI - not a fast one though, but I guess it's enough for a book reader. Connectivity: Wifi for downloading books & OTA updates Bluetooth for listening to audiobooks Customisation: Installed KoReader for better usability, can use custom images for sleep and power off screen. Installed NickelMenu for more customisation ad Google Drive Support

Very bad! Purchased it on my bday thinking i wil gift it myself but the quality is so bad, its lagging so so bad , not able to read the first docuement only ! I want to return it! Such a waste of money!

worth every bit of money spent. much better than the other one sold by this site itself. plays pdf, cbr files in addition to ebook formats. so glad i switched over.

Excellent ereader . UI is fast and easy to load epub books to the device.

Muy buen eReader. He tenido varios (de hecho sigo teniendo algun otro que utilizo) y puedo decir que este no tiene nada de envidiar a otros de marcas con más nombre. La pantalla se ve muy bien, y de hecho tiene un tacto curioso que se diferencia de otros lectores que he probado. La temperatura de la pantalla es fácilmente ajustable, y lo cierto es que hace cómoda la lectura. La duración de la batería es bastante correcta, nos parece que tiene una duración bastante buena. No sé qué tal envejecerá con el uso, pero de momento genial. En cuanto al tamaño y peso, es muy cómodo. Al principio la pantalla me pareció un poco pequeña (una cosa es ver los detalles y otra probar el lector y utilizarlo de forma real), pero enseguida te acostumbras. Imagino que también dependerá de qué lector vengas por las comparaciones. Una cosa que me preocupaba era el sistema de compra con Rakuten, porque nunca lo había utilizado. Y debo decir que ningún problema, hasta ahora ha sido igual de sencillo que cuando compro ebooks en Amazon para mí Kindle. De momento, con varios libros leídos en un mes, las sensaciones son muy buenas. Si me preguntaran acerca de si recomendaría la compra, sin duda diría que sí.

i used to contempltate bringing my phyisical book with me all the time since it does take up a lot of spaces in my purse and heavy. but now i can read everywhere love it!

I absolutely love this eReader and take it with me everywhere. The Kobo Clara BW is lightweight, comfortable to hold, and very easy to use, which makes it great for travel and everyday reading. The screen is smooth, durable, and truly glare-free. I can read for long stretches without eye strain, even in bright light. It has replaced doom-scrolling on my phone before bed, which has made my sleep better. One of my favorite things about this device is how customizable it is. Beyond the standard settings, there’s a hidden menu that lets you fine-tune the reading experience even more, which I really appreciate. The dark mode (inverse reading) is excellent and something I use all the time, especially at night. I have two minor complaints: 1) when switching between menus in dark mode, the screen briefly flashes as it refreshes. 2) response time when clicking is not lightning speed, just normal speed. This sometimes makes me click things twice accidentally. Both are noticeable, but not dealbreakers, and they're the only issues I’ve had after 6+ months of near daily use. I love that I can load PDFs and EPUBs directly from my computer without needing a subscription. For me, that freedom alone sets it apart from other eReaders. It seems like a well-built device that does exactly what I want it to do. If you’re looking for a simple, flexible, and enjoyable reading experience, this one is hard to beat.

Un petit bijou qui me suit partout , j'aime les sacs plutôt petits et ma petite liseuse y trouve sa place. L'écran est de bonne qualité et l'affichage est rapide. Je n'ai pas pris la couleur , ce n'est pas utile si on lit surtout des livres sans illustrations.
