Very good cam, beats the competition to a pulp, superb colour, sharp as a blade and allows external mic and head phones to be used this put's the gs230 up a gear from it's more exspensive sister the gs320. EIS is rubbish but then you should be using a tripod or at the very least have a monopod dangling from the base to act as a steady. USB high speed transport that equals Fire Wire qaulity, would not beleave it if a I had not seen it myself! Over all this is the best and sadly the last of mini dv 1/6 x 3 from Panasonic, out with a bang not a wimper in sight, Good on ya panny...

fantastic!
it's everything i wanted in a camcorder, it's great for basic editing, and propbably the best quality for the price range! Mini DV is definatly the best quality, and will be for the next few years. Easy to use as well!
