A Story full of suspense, twists, and a bit of insight into the murky world of politics. Must read!
This book took me by surprise in the best way possible. The story starts with an intriguing premise—a high-profile politician, Vijay Jagat Singh (VJS), receives a threatening phone call that could destroy not just his career but the future of his close ally, Netaji, who is set to become the Prime Minister. From the moment the mysterious "gift" arrives, the tension is palpable, and it only grows stronger as the story unfolds. What I loved most about the book is how it blends politics, suspense, and human emotions. The characters felt real—flawed, ambitious, and desperate to protect their secrets. VJS is the perfect example of someone who seems powerful on the outside but is deeply insecure and scared when his empire is threatened. Goenka, his secretary, is another interesting character. His fear and helplessness felt so genuine that I could almost imagine myself in his shoes. The pacing of the story is excellent. It’s fast enough to keep you hooked but not so rushed that you miss the small, important details. The author’s background as a crime reporter really shows—there’s a level of authenticity in how the investigation unfolds. I enjoyed following the Delhi Police Special Cell as they pieced together the clues while battling time and political pressure. The twists in the story are what make it truly unputdownable. Every time I thought I had figured out the blackmailer’s identity or motives, the plot took a completely different turn. By the time I reached the climax, I was at the edge of my seat. And let me tell you, the ending does not disappoint—it’s shocking, satisfying, and leaves you thinking about the larger message. If I had to nitpick, I’d say there were a couple of moments where the story slowed down a bit, especially when diving into the political background of the characters. But those parts added depth, so I didn’t mind too much.Overall, this book is an absolute treat for anyone who loves a good political thriller. It’s smart, engaging, and keeps you guessing until the very end. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a story full of suspense, twists, and a bit of insight into the murky world of politics. A great read!

Heart pounding & thought-provoking
📍 The Number you're calling is switched off by Tushar Srivastava is a fast gripping crime thriller.📍 I really love the title as it justifies the book in a perfect manner📍 I have to be honest, when I read the first chapter initially I loved it the way it was executed - The suspense build was on point.📍 Afterward, i found it boring or was not able to read with the same interest but as I moved forward there was no coming back !📍 The book revolves around Netaji is about to take oath of prime minister in the next 7 days, Vjs His right man is full on supporting netaji but what happened when a relaxed Vjs recived call that can destroy his and Netaji's whole life in seconds ?📍 The delhi police are on their toes to catch the killer who is hiding behind an unknown mask.📍 Will they be able to catch or is it the end for netaji and Vjs ?📍 Vikram's character was so attractive to read, it was executed perfectly by someone like singham i would say ! his character makes this book shine bright along with Saurya !📍While the book was fast paced I love how the author takes time to introduce every moment with perfect detailing for example : Explaining the hierarchy of Delhi police or crime branch , it shows how well researched the book is.📍 The writing was on point, I was able to imagine the characters in front of my eyes. While the crime perspective was known, the criminal Raghav was an element of surprise to me.I love how realistic everything was kept, as how it is - the pressure, the manipulation and politics and how much loop holes the system has.I would this was a heart pounding, thought-provoking crime thriller.
