Fantastic
Brilliant! So helpful in bringing books up to my eye level which I need for comfort with the spinal condition I have. Sturdy enough to hold large hard backs. Raises up high when needed, and tilts for desired angles. Will be invaluable for using with cook books too, as I need my back to be as upright as possible. This has got me back into reading as I was finding holding a book in the normal manner too difficult. Absolutely love this stand, 10 out of 10

Not wood, plastic. And hard to open and close.
On the plus side, this stand is very strong; it will hold a heavy book or laptop with ease. It's also extremely adjustable, won't slide around, and looks nice. Plus it folds up to store on it's side when not in use.The reason I'm taking off a point is that although it looks like the face of the stand is wood, and the description says wood, the only wood *might* be if there is some hidden inside. But the part that looks like wood is just a wood-colored plastic laminate.I don't like when manufacturers mislead customers.Also, its worth noting that the same heavy workmanship and tight screws that make it able to hold heavy books also makes it *very* hard to open, adjust, and close. I literally have to stand over it and press down with my body weight to close it. I can't imagine a kid or elderly person being able to use this.

Sturdy book or device stand
This is a sturdy stand which seems to be built to last; the finish throughout is good and the moving parts don't look as if they will loosen (although an Allen key is included, just in case). The height and angle of the stand can be adjusted to suit and although a little stiff, it means it stays in place well. The clips on the stand can be used to hold pages in place or moved out of the way if not needed. It is quite a heavy item, so not that portable for travel use but otherwise I'm very pleased with it.

A very useful item with a quality look and feel ...only let down a bit by it's current price (£50)
I really like this as it can accommodate large books, iPads/tablets and laptops ...and it does it's job very well indeed. It feels very sturdy and has good balance — even with my heavy 17" aluminium laptop on it. Works well with large, heavy hardback 'coffee table' booksThe materials feel just about premium and, in my opinion, it looks good. However, the unreasonably high price (£50) is the only reason I'm not awarding at least one extra star — as I have seen very similar products both here and beyond that are priced between £25-£40 (some are even the same brand as this one).If it ever ends up on offer here for a more realistic £40 or below, then I would highly recommend it.
