HammerHead Showers Solid Metal Single-Handle Trim Kit with Rough-In Shower Valve, Volume and Temperature Control, Pressure Balance, Chrome

I did a bath/shower remodel and used all Hammerhead products for the Handheld Shower Head, Shower Arm, Shower Valve/Trim Kit, and Tub Spout. All of the products are solid metal and superior quality. This review is for the HammerHead Solid Metal Single-Handle Trim Kit with Rough-In Shower Valve. All of the bath/shower components have a heavy, superior quality feel and this kit is no exception. The components are solid and heavy, but simple and easy to install. Nothing is made of plastic. The volume of water coming from the valve is fantastic--no flow restrictions here. I adjusted the temperature control to the hotter side and have a very good balance for getting warm water flowing quickly without having to turn the handle all the way to the hottest setting. Operation is simple--pull the handle out to turn on the flow and rotate it clockwise to increase the temperature. When you find the temperature setting you like, keep the handle in the position on the "clock" and simply push it in to turn off the flow. The next time just open the flow and the temperature setting will already be in your desired position. I couldn't be happier with the quality and performance. The installation was pretty easy and everything I needed to connect to the main plumbing lines was provided. If I do any more plumbing projects, HammerHead products are going to be my first choice for the components I use. They are rock solid with a beautiful, clean design.

This valve set is highly polished and has a nice modern style. It comes all wrapped up in little cloth bags so as to not get scratched or damaged. This valve is nice since I want the water volume control as well as hot and cold control. No big box stores sell this type anymore! Thanks, Hammerhead! In every dimension the valve and valve body is larger than my old American Standard valve. That was okay since I had to cut the old valve body out and that meant there was the right amount of space to solder in this unit with no extra fittings required. It is nice that this one has shut-offs for the water if the valve cartridge ever goes bad: just pop the bad out and replace. You’ll not have to take a wall apart. The only thing I was unsure about is there is a plastic cover over the valve that says “Ensure the shower valve does not exceed this line.” This could be better explained ( I still don’t know what it refers to). But overall, it was not difficult to install. It’s just a standard shower valve. Coordinating it to a new acrylic shower stall was the only tricky thing since I had to make the shower valve stick out from the wall another inch to accommodate the shower stall being another inch offset from what I had before. That’s probably what that instruction refers to but just trial and error during a mock-up allowed me to figure it out to is proper placement.

Ok I posted up pictures of the unboxing just to show the quality. The way it was packaged and presented was very impressive and added to the value of detail. The product and finish itself matched the quality. I also posted to show how the box should look when opening. When I first purchased from this company, I accidentally ordered the dual handle with diverted. When I opened that one, it was nice but not organized, but the quality was so good that I decided to go with this company and order the right one. When opening this one I now believe the other box was opened and resold to me. Not the fault of the company, mostly the nature of the beast of buying from Amazon. If that other one was the one I needed, I would’ve kept it to be honest. But good to know that the quality finish is even through both different models. Now I originally was going to wait to write a review after I was done with my renovation. But I was very impressed from everything of the packaging to the very detailed instructions that had a lot of diagrams and in color?! The installation was actually a breeze that I decided to go ahead and write the review. First off, I searched for a long time and went through many outlets to find a shower handle that controlled temperature and water pressure separately. Originally I wanted something with two handles but I don’t think that even exists. All two handles are now temperature and a diverted for a hand held shower head of some sort. I wanted a combination shower head so the diverter is already included in the shower head itself. Less of a hassle to fix/replace for future use. This works similar to the single handle faucets in most kitchen sinks. The further you pull to engage, the more water flow. Left and right control the temperature. What’s convenient as I didn’t realize until installing and using it; when you find the temperature you like, you can simply push it down to turn it off but the degree you put the handle “left or right” stays at that position. Meaning that next time you need to hop in the shower, when you turn it on, simply lift up to engage, and since it’s at that angle, it will regulate to that same temp! So simple it’s actually genius. I will be buying another one in the future when I start on my other bathroom.

Good product, easy to install

I can’t say enough good about this brand in general. Second item I’ve bought from them and everything feels great and well built. Installed easily enough and had multiple different options to do so. Handle operates smoothly and had significantly less play in it than the old delta one it replaced. The service valves will be great if I ever have to service the cartridge or any of the pipe/ trim above it.

Beyond excellent! Fit and finish is perfection. Packaging is perfecto. Seriously, TRUE American made equality right here. Look no further, not even Brizo is this high end. And the prices are excellent!

I have ordered twice from HammerHead. The first shower set up I purchased was because I was sick of the cheap look of the expensive Moen and Delta product. And supporting the overseas crowd was getting old. I ran across the USA made, all metal product and decided to give it a try. And I must say it is robust and not cheap feeling or looking. When I first started using this product in my home It even straightened out an issue I had with my 2 year old Delta shower system that would never maintain a constant temperature. But in testing the Hammerhead system it keeps a constant temp of 105 for the entire test time of 30 minutes. And the attention to maintain the Matt black finish during both shipping and installition goes above and beyond. Great product, great delivery time and good price. So......what else could you be looking for in a company. OH! right, not made in China.
