Just buy these already
Saw some YouTubers raving about these recently as I was actively searching for some speakers for my desktop setup. I had just recently returned a Sonos beam 2 because of its underwhelming performance so naturally I was also skeptical of trying these. And being somewhat of an audiophile all my life I am not easily impressed by speakers, sound systems, earphones etc, but let me tell you when I turned these on and gave them the first initial listen I was sold immediately. They get more than loud enough for my viewing needs and then some. Surprisingly enough they have more bass than I would expect from a set of speakers this small. I was thinking I might have to buy a sub to complement these but now I’m convinced that won’t be necessary. I am someone that constantly enjoys watching content and listening to music at high levels of volume and these have more than enough power to satisfy me at around 30-50% volume. Haven’t had any instances where they distort yet, not saying they won’t however I just don’t need to push them that hard. The controls are pretty intuitive just take the 5 minutes to learn them and you’re all set it’s that simple. I like that the controls are simply three touch buttons on the right speaker. Everything else you could possibly need is on the app. And while these are more than enough for my pc setup they won’t be replacing my dedicated speakers and amp with sub sound system for music listening, because that’s not what I got these for, but now having heard them I have no problem recommending them especially for the price point at which they are available at this moment, $150. Just get them you won’t be disappointed. On a side note packaging was very nice and they include several different cables in case you have different connection needs. They are very aesthetically appealing to me especially in white and they seem very well built with a healthy amount of weight to them. One of my favorite purchases in a while and I buy A LOT of stuff on here.

Nice Addition to my Computer
After years of putting up with the hollow, tinny sound of my old Logitech speakers, upgrading to the Edifier M601 has been an absolute game-changer. The difference is night and day; the rich audio clarity and robust, deep bass immediately breathed new life into my daily listening, making my old setup feel like a distant, buzzy memory. They deliver a beautifully balanced soundstage that handles everything from crisp dialogue to heavy soundtracks effortlessly, all while looking sleek on my desk. If you’re tired of subpar desktop audio and want a massive, satisfying leap in quality, these are worth every single penny. They carry much more power than you need for real rich sound. I'm very happy.

Best all around speaker for the price
For the price, you can't beat them. Everything about the speakers feel top notch down to the packaging. The finish on the speaker is a smooth, slightly off-white that looks and feels premium. The touch controls on the main speaker is nice, and the wave on/off is super cool. The speakers sound surprising good for their size, even the lower mid's and low bass, and I've only had them at max volume once because of how loud they can get. The included angled aluminum stands is great too. My only complaint is the power/audio cable to the second speaker was too short, and I had to buy a longer one. Nonetheless, will be recommending these to all my friends.

Very good active stereo speaker set, minimal footprint, affordable price.
They won't beat a set of passive speakers with a dedicated amp, but they're an excellent active speaker set. They barely take up any desktop space, but still have great build quality, and have good mass so they're heavy for their size. They're more like downsized bookshelf monitors rather than typical plastic stereo speakers. They're ported in the rear and have surprising low end output with a lot of presence. With proper isolation from the table, you'd almost assume there was a dedicated subwoofer because you don't generally get good bass response below 250hz from speakers that are this small. The small size allows you to tilt them onto their sides and place them under a monitor, a bit like a soundbar with the tweeters in the center. I used some small silicone isolation feet to elevate them off the desktop slightly and there's no rattling or distortion when properly isolated from the desk. The included aluminum stands are nice quality, but they only allow for a single angled position. The accompanying mobile app allows for some basic equalizer adjustments. Not a huge change in output characteristics like you'd expect from a more expensive passive setup, but better than nothing. A big step up from cheapo speaker sets, and an easy solution if you're tight on desktop space and don't want to run a bunch of wiring, but still want robust and undistorted audio.

Small and rather good, not expensive, very happy.
Starting with the stuff I don't like: the controls are oddly designed and the piece of paper that describes how they work is not clear. They go to sleep after a bit and rather than pushing the pulsing power button, you have to do a weird swipe gesture across the unlit volume buttons and the power button to wake them up. Huh? Can't I just press the power button? Why did they go to sleep anyway? The controls are kind of annoying, but that's it. I control the volume from an external DAC so I won't use them much anyway. The sound itself is impressive for how small they are. I had tried PreSonus Eris 4.5s and Pioneer DJ DM-50Ds prior to these. The PreSonus were absolutely horrid as they had a constant hiss no matter what you did with them, even if nothing was connected. Those things went right back in the box after a day. They sounded nice, but that hiss was a straight dealbreaker. The Pioneers are studio monitors and not very enjoyable; very flat, meant for work, not play. These Edifiers are VERY enjoyable and produce a wonderful sound despite being very small. With the PreSonus and the Pioneers, I felt like I had to tweak EQ settings to the limits to get any low-end out of them unless they were at high volume. These tiny guys won't produce astonishing bass, but they produce a good full sound at all volume levels. If you've never had speakers this small, you will be very surprised at how well they handle low frequencies and how effortlessly they do it. I'm going to add a subwoofer as I like a full sound, but I think for a lot of people, these would be more than sufficient for desktop use. They're connected to a FiiO K11 R2R DAC and I'm very pleased at the clarity and performance. I'm no audiophile, but I can tell what's good from what's not. These are good. Are they great? Maybe someone else who can use fancy audiophile words can say, but these meet my primary requirements. They're small, they look reasonable, they sound miles better than most cheap speakers that are marketed as 2.1 systems from Logitech or even Klipsh. I'm sure someone could write a novel about all the reasons that they're bad or why you should spend $1000 on a pair of KEFs, but for those of us who want something good without going broke, these are a fine choice.

Small but mighty!
The depth and range of sound coming out of this small pair of speakers is stunning. I balked at the price at first, but having just set them up and listened to them, I'd say they're worth it. Im using fxsound as the equalizer and set them up using the usb cord instead of bluetooth. The Edifier Hub software I downloaded was useless because it didn't support this model of speakers (so don't bother), so I deleted it and went back to fxsound. Perfect.

Good sounding feature rich desktop speakers
These speakers hit the sweet spot between sound quality, port options, and desktop space usage. They connected immediately to my Mac via USB, and paired easily with my phone. The iPhone app is nice for remote volume control, tone tuning, and power off .

Great speakers at a bargain price
If you have Desktop, adding these to you setup is a gamechanger. They punch above speakers twice the price. The only negative is the they keep releasing new firmware almost every other day and hence you need to update that else the USB streaming function stops working.
