Perfect!
I use earbuds at night to watch TV so I don't bother other people. However the Blu tooth on my TV only has a range of about 20 feet. So I watched video reviews on blu tooth transmitters, and this one was highly rated. I'm so glad I purchased this! Plug and play, easy to pair. Zero latency (voices match mouths) when paired with my Bose QC II earbuds. I can walk all over the house and hear the TV. Great for when I'm cooking or doing dishes. NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU PAIR WITH aptX LOW LATENCY EARBUDS/HEADPHONES/SPEAKERS OR THERE WILL BE A DELAY WITH THE TV IMAGE. SETUP - I initially used the included optical cable straight from the TV to the transmitter because I figured it would be the best sound quality. It worked great, but I could only adjust the volume with the buttons on the device itself, as opposed to the TV remote. So I switched to the 3.5mm audio cable - also included - and the sound is just as good, and I can now adjust the volume using my TV remote! Great device, does exactly what it says, and even looks nice. I like the touch screen buttons elegantly laid out on top of the device.

No lip sync delay!
Intent: Watch TV both with headset and existing sound bar simultaneously. My Setup: Avantree aptX HD Transmitter/Receiver (device being reviewed) Avantree [2020 New] aptX-HD 24 Bit Hi-Fi Bluetooth 5.0 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones Existing Vizio TV with optical audio output Existing Vizio sound bar w/ Bluetooth subwoofer Setup: Fairly simple to connect the Avantree Tx/Rx to the optical audio output of the TV and, using the Tx/ Bypass mode (switch on the right side of unit), connect the sound bar to the Avantree Tx/Rx. Selected Low Latency priority mode using the switch on the left side. Power provided by USB connection from the TV. Easy on. Simple to pair with both headsets, (Holding Tx button for 2 sec puts the unit in pairing mode, then put the desired headset in pairing mode and Voila!) - voice prompt confirms connection (and the voice can be turned off/on as it could become annoying after awhile but is useful inn the early setup phase.) Device remembers and recognizes each headset as it is turned on and within range. For my situation, the range seems quite adequate. Can roam around the entire house without dropping. Avantree Tx is centrally located in the living room. Tried the furthest reaches of the basement without issue - at least 40-50 ft away with wooden studded walls/floors. Pros: Easy setup/pairing, Bypass mode works fine to allow both sound bar and headsets. No lip sync delay when used in conjunction with compatible headset. Also, customer support is very good. Initially had an issue with a different headset that was causing an issue and not allowing Low Latency mode. Once I paired the device with an appropriate headset, everything was great. Cons: Given my setup, when both headset and soundbar are used, there is a slight echo (time delay between the two devices) Do not notice any lip sync delay with either headset or sound bar when used individually but when used together there is a slight reverb. I suspect that this is due to my older model sound bar which is not "low latency". Not terribly bothersome for me but something to consider.

Good Transmitter / Receiver If your headphones are the only device nearby.
I purchased his device years ago because I live in an apartment and I generally listen to my music and TV with headphones as not to disturb my neighbors. This transmitter / receiver worked well for five years, but I had to get a new one when it had trouble pairing. Unfortunately while this was the best transmitter/ receiver five years ago, now there are better options, simply because you have to pair your devices blind with this. Because of this I returned the second one I purchased (in 2023). Today, there are just too many Bluetooth devices that will: pair with this device instead of your headphones, or cause interference when you try to pair. So if you live in a house without a lot of Bluetooth devices and you are far from your neighbors, this might work for you. However, there are similarly priced options on Amazon that allow you to select the device you wish to pair. A more detailed review follows. My item came packaged in card box with an outer sleeve displaying the item an brand. Included were the transmitter /receiver, an optical cable, a 1/8” male-male stereo cable, a usb power cable and the instructions. A 120V (wall plug) to USB adaptor was not included. Avantree justifies this as reducing waste and recommends you plug the device directly into you TV. The justification, to reduce waste, while common today is non-sense and ridiculous. Set up is fairly straightforward. The TV audio out connects on the audio in side and your stereo (or what ever device you normally send audio to) connects on the audio out side. I should note that while the device supports both optical audio and a more traditional 1/8” stereo cable, you can’t cross these in bypass mode. i.e., if you use the optical cable for input, the optical cable has to be used for output for bypass to work. Pairing devices to the transmitter can be difficult. When switched to transmitter mode the device automatically will pair with the last device(s) or enter pairing mode. You can also hold the pairing button for a few seconds to enter pairing mode. As mentioned earlier, in either case, the device will latch on to the strongest signal and pair with that. It doesn’t matter if that signal is your headphones or your neighbor’s smart speaker, because pairing is blind. The second “B” channel is even more difficult to pair because wi-if signals interfere on that band. In fact the only way i could get something paired on the B channel was to take the device to my car, drive far away and pair my headphones away from any interference. Once set up the device has three modes, transmitter/ bypass, off/bypass and receiver. In transmitter mode you can both transmit and have music go to your stereo. In the off mode, the device is unpowered but sound will go to your stereo. There are two sound modes, low latency and high fidelity. In the low latency mode, lag is minimized sacrificing some sound quality. In the high definition mode, audio quality is prioritized at the expense of some lag. The former mode requires headphones that can support low latency. Either way sound quality is fine and there is minimal lag. Again, while I was happy with my purchase five years ago, today the technology/ features of this device are outdated. Blind Bluetooth pairing just isn’t a good option today and for that reason alone I can’t give it five stars, even if the blind pairing is part of the design. I’ll rate this for four stars, for the quality of the device sound and low latency. I’m deducting a star primary because of blind pairing and a lack of a usb to wall adaptor to power the device.

THIS SMALL DEVICE IS AWESOME!
This, little device is the PERFECT solution for watching TV! There are literally cords and settings for every TV, Satellite receiver and earbuds/headphones configuration. I didn't want to fiddle with my TV, which is mounted to the wall and weighs a ton, so, I hooked it up one to the back of my Dish network receiver. This unit has a "Bypass Mode," so there's no need to use the remote that came with the TV at all! This magical device works so well, I immediately bought a second one for my bedroom, which I hooked it up to the back of my Joey. The BEST part is that one person can wear headsets/earbuds and others in the room can STILL hear the TV at a different volume! So, if you're hearing impaired or just prefer listening at a different volume from your guests, it's no problem with this device. You can also mute the TV and still listen at any volume you like! Set up is simple via the voice prompt and instant pairing mode, making it practically idiot-proof. The good news is, even if you're an idiot, the friendly customer service and technical support team are only a phone call away. You can even schedule a next day, comprehensive phone consultation and they'll walk you through set up and first use, which took about 5 minutes, it's that easy! They even scheduled a follow-up call the next day to confirm I was fully satisfied, which I am! This is a great company selling quality products at unbeatable prices. My advice, buy two of these units now, you won't be disappointed!

I really wanted this to work in spite of strength of the bluetooth transmitter is 12 feet!
The bluetooth range is terrible. The specs say 155 feet. I tried this with 2 different bluetooth devices. Both as a single connection each. and then both together.I also tried it with spdif and 3.5mm audio. spdif on my samsung tv and 3.5mm ausio on a lenovo laptop. If I am sitting within 3 feet of it ... it's great. so there are connectivity problems with this Oasis. Debating now to try a replacement, or return for something else. Will update. Update: did the paperwork, next day received new Oasis. Initial test. Don't know why the initial connection to BT earphones selected SBC as the codec and should have selected aptx HD (H). connected them to earbuds flicked the HD LL switch and switched between SBC and H. Now will test w headset again. Now the headset connects in HD!! Will do another test with the optical cable. Then I will shut down the wifi for 15 minutes after I power up the Oasis again. Rasing to 4 stars. Second update: connected to optical from samsung tv and output to soundbar. Everything works flawlessly. CONCLUSION: Obviously the first device was defective. I had mentioned that the box looked as if it had been opened although the seal was intact. This device was a POS. QUESTION?: Why does Amazon or Avantree let this crap happen? This makes me reluctant to buy from Amazon. Ok they will replace it, but do you want to play the game “will this one work”? After a couple of times I hate the game! I have been buying elsewhere and NOT running into this issue. REVISIT: so I tried it today the next day. No sound. The optical connection kept flashing on and off. WTF it worked last night. Today no sound?? Will contact support and if no satisfaction then back to Amazon. Back to 1 star. How difficult is the setup with a Samsung tv let me count the ways. First this is old bt tech but still works. The real issue was the optical cable output format. It was set to dolby atmos, BUT needed to be set at PCM. THE Spectrum input worked for audio out but NONE of the apps (netflix, prime, appletv …). So I separated the power so it would stay on when I shut off the tv. A huge PITA. But when it works it’s nothing short of wonderfully! Well the protocol dropping aptxhd at totally unpredictable times is more than annoying. I really want stuff to work. I don’t want to have to jump through hoops to keep it working. This is truly a POS. DO NOT BUY!! I am sending the second one back too. I will NEVER buy a product from Avantree again. For $69 this is way too much of a headache to get working, to keep working and the random drop offs are the straw that breaks my camel’s back.

Works as advertised
Great addition to my home system. I have an Avantree DG60P that I was happy with. The DG60P was dying and Avantree doesn't make it anymore so I decided to upgrade to this Oasis. Now instead of just one pair of wireless headphones I can transmit to two and still output to my reciever. Just beware they mean it when they say turn off all other bluetooth radios, it auto connected to my blu ray player on initial setup. Thanks Avantree for another great gadget.

We still don't have a proper Bluetooth transmitter on the market so hold off on this one
Awhile back I finally decided to invest in a wireless gaming mouse, ditching my hardcore dedication to cable that started years ago during my competitive gaming years. Finding no noticeable difference in input lag with Logitech's G Pro Wireless, I finally got around to replacing my Turtlebeach Elite Pro T.A.C., a mixer I use with headphones in place of speakers in my AV receiver setup (I only have monitors, not a TV and I have high-end headphones so why not use them for everything.) My research brought me to Avantree's Oasis Plus after trying out other Chinese knock-offs that were plagued with poor shielding, Bluetooth quality, range, etc. Avantree seemed like a reputable brand that had been in the audio transmitter space for awhile. They also lay claim to a unique feature, the ability to simultaneously output Bluetooth & wired audio, which is actually true as they are the only device on the market to have this feature for some odd reason. Another unique feature seems to be voice prompts which increases the premium Avantree charges for their device. Specification * Bluetooth version: 4.2 *Support profiles: A2DP, AVRCP *Audio codec: aptX-HD, aptX-LL, FastStream, aptX, SBC *Operational range: Class I, up to 50 meters *Input voltage/ current: DC 5V/ 500mA *Operating temperature: -10 ℃ ~ 45 ℃ *Storage temperature: -20 ℃ ~ 60 ℃ *Support sampling rate in optical mode:≤48KHz *Support audio in optical mode: PCM / LPCM (Set your TV audio as PCM/LPCM format) *Product size: 4.49’’* 2.95’’* 1.18’’ (114×75×30MM) *Product weight: 0.20lb (90g) Off the bat in terms of specifications it has aptX-HD which means very good sound quality. One feature it lacks that it's competition has is a battery although I can understand why they'd be hesitant to include one as batteries can increase the interference and raise the price even more. At a price of $80 ($70 on Amazon) it still is a good deal. You're getting aptX-HD for 24 bit audio quality, Class 1 version 4.2 Bluetooth (which means it should have serious range) in a tiny package (its about the size of your palm and only 1/5 of a pound.) The Oasis seems to be built around keeping a Bluetooth device always connected when in Bluetooth + Passive mode as when there isn't a Bluetooth device connected you run into numerous issues. The first of which is when using the bypass + Bluetooth mode there is an electrical hum that lasts 7 seconds then silences for 13 seconds before it starts the hum for 7 seconds again. It goes on forever. This happens if there is no Bluetooth device connected it seems so it must be a hum from the wireless chipset doing a scan for devices. Another issue is that the built-in speaker which is only meant for the voice prompts starts acting as a normal speaker if no Bluetooth device is connected. I noticed what seemed like whispers coming from somewhere in my apartment and found out it was the Oasis Plus. It was playing the audio from my cable TV through it's internal speaker, but at a very low and uncontrollable volume which is obviously a design issue. Once I connected a Bluetooth device to the transmitter the issues stopped. A few suggestions for the next version of this device: Make it portable (add a battery) Add support for Bluetooth 5.0 & LDAC (32 bit audio quality if possible) Add microphone aux support or add a microphone to the device itself - I would love to be able to route my PC's sound card through here, but it's useless without mic support It would also be nice to be able to connect a phone and take calls. Better shielding - There's an electrical buzz when running straight 3.5mm from my PC's headphone (just headphone, not a dual line in/microphone port) port to the Oasis transmitter. I don't have this problem when connecting headphones directly to the PC or even when outputting to other mixer devices. Better sound quality through 3.5mm ports - there is a major difference in quality when using 3.5mm directly on source device and when going through the 3.5mm port on the transmitter. When going through the transmitter the sound quality drops significantly and is also noticeably muffled. Better audio detection - As it is now, there doesn't seem to be a signal sent to let connected devices know there's no audio coming through, as a result when I'm using a Bluetooth headphone DAC receiver there's major trouble switching audio between the Oasis transmitter and something like my phone on it because the Oasis is "always transmitting" even when there's no sound. This frequently results in my Bluetooth headphone receiver not switching over if I start playing audio on my phone. Even if I mute things or turn off the TV its no go for switching audio most of the time. Overall Avantree still has a ways to go with this device. This means there still isn't a proper Bluetooth transmitter on the market after all these years. The design issues means it truly allows simultaneous use of Bluetooth & bypass as once in that mode you can ONLY use both of them at once otherwise you run into issues. It needs better shielding as well as a built-in amp + DAC on the wired end for truly HD audio quality as the audio quality on the bypass end is sub-par. Hopefully with the next iteration they'll fix all of these issues as having the ability to just keep it in one mode and use devices at will while having true HD sound would be a godsend. *I reached out to Avantree and they gave me a list of the upcoming Bluetooth 5.0 updated devices & the Oasis is not on the list. Update 04/09/2019: Avantree has updated their upcoming Bluetooth 5.0 product list page since this review was published and now lists a new Bluetooth 5.0 transmitter/receiver. The model is BTTC-580-BLK & this looks to be the successor to the standard Oasis as it doesn't have apt-X HD listed as a supported codec (the model for the Oasis is also BTTC-500-W while the Plus, BTTC-500P-GRY, has a noted "P" in front of it's generation number.) There seems to be a complete redesign and a possible attempt to be an "Amazon Echo" replacement. Also of note is that it looks as though they've taken some of my suggestions and implemented them into the new device such as a microphone as well as Bluetooth 5.0. There also is going to be Dolby/DTS support and an LCD screen.

Worth the money
Definitely the best Bluetooth transmitter I have found. I had two other lower priced ones that performed very poorly. This one synced up immediately. Glad I spent the money.

Excellent unit that has made my LG C3 OLED TV useable with headphones!
Excellent unit that has made my LG C3 OLED TV useable with headphones! Audio is rock solid and plenty loud enough even without the boost option. In fact the boost introduced a bit of distortion at higher volumes, but luckily I don't need it. The remote for the volume is very responsive and I'm very happy with the unit. It's a very clean, pleasant sound with no noise or buzzing. The only slight niggle is that if I pause any streaming service (Prime, YouTube etc.) the audio does start to break up and go out of sync when I resume the programme. This doesn't happen when using Blu-ray or TV recorder playback - it only seems to be when streaming either from the TV's built in apps or via 4K Firestick. A quick power cycle of the unit always restores the audio perfectly though. (I might plug a USB power adapter into smart socket so I can just ask Alexa to power reset it 😊) It's currently getting its' power from one of the TVs USB sockets. I have tested compatibility with: Shokz Open Dots One Soundcore AeroFit2 Sony WF510 Tozo Openbuds Soundcore Sport X10 Cambridge Melomania 1 All were bought over time to try and get a set of headphones working natively with the LG OLED - none worked reliably with it! All the above headphones worked with other devices and now work seamlessly with the Aventree Oasis Plus 2. Highly recommended!

Excelente
