A very capable Bluetooth speaker
Reviewed at £49.90My first impressions of the speaker were very good. The build quality is superb for the price, and I can see it holding up well at work (construction sites). The speaker has a nice weight to it, which is normally a sign of quality. The charging port cover is a tight fit, presumably to keep the speaker submersible. This is a tad difficult to open, but again is probably more of a good thing than bad in my opinion. The charging port on this unit is a modern USB type C, which is nice to see in a speaker at this price. A charging cable is included, but there is no charging adapter (let's face it, we all have about 10 of these going spare anyway). The speaker also has an analog 3.5mm jack input too.The controls on top of the speaker are quite handy, too. Other than the usual power, pairing and volume buttons, there's a play/pause button which doubles up as a skip track button. The mic button activates Google assistant on your phone, so it's easy to change to a different album or track or make a phone call. The last button is the 'Enhanced Bass' button. This DOES make a difference, but doesn't really boost the bass as you would expect. It does add clarity and opens up the sound stage a tad. I do think the speaker sounds better with it turned on.Battery life is very good too, LG claim 12 hours of playback, I managed about 13 hours with volume at an average of 65%LG seemed to have gone down the "flat and true" route with this speaker, so you certainly wont be blown away by it when you first listen. The bass is there, but it is far more subtle than other speakers - I also own a Bose SoundLink Mini, and the bass is far more prevalent on the Bose. The LG does come into its own in terms of clarity, though. The LG smashes the Bose out of the water when it comes to mids and highs. This speaker also goes MUCH louder, and doesn't really distort like the Bose does either. The speaker benefits from aptX technology, which supports up to 16-bit 48kHz sampling over Bluetooth. Again, this is great for the money.I fiddled around with the EQ on my phone, and managed to get this speaker sounding pretty much as good as it can be for the physical size of it, with a richer bass output, whilst keeping the clarity the speaker already offered. I'm left wondering why LG didn't do this out of the factory. So in summary, this speaker is built really well, has brilliant functionality, and sounds great from the factory, but sounds amazing once you fiddle the EQ a bit.

Very hard to open the USB port cover. Need a tool to do it.
This is an OK speaker, with a pleasant sound.I wasn't overly keen on the bass boost function but each to their own.My biggest issue is the cover over the USB charging port. Presumably there to make the whole thing waterproof. It fits so tightly that I need a lever (such as a spoon handle) to open it. This does detract from the general usability.Like many cheaper speakers it sleeps after a short time of no sound being transmitted, which makes it a pain to use with satnav software on my phone if there isn't a lot of activity. "Drive up M1 for 70 miles" means that it is well asleep before you get the next instruction.

Not dual play.
Why only 3 stars.? Well that's because it wasn't as advertised, though I did keep it. When I bought this it was so I could link it to my pk5 with duel play as shown on the amazon page but the button that was ment to do it wasn't there and though dual play is also advertised on another major sellers Web page it seems this is not a thing with UK pk speakers (so I was eventually told by LG). As a speaker on its own it is great value for money and more portable than the pk5 but I did find the base a bit on the heavy side

good sound
Just got this for my child's birthday because he allways wanted a bluetooth speaker, but i was dissapointed because it dosen't charge . When i opened the box , it still had battery so i had to listen for a few hours but when i wanted to charge it , it never did .... is the same charger that i use for my phone samsung s8 . Maybe i was unlucky....

Decent speaker if on offer
The speaker is super easy to use and has a decent volume but personally lacks in the sound quality. I have owned the Sony SRS-XB20 which for a similar price offers so much more bass to the sound. It's good for the occasional listener but for someone who is a techy and an audiophobe, don't bother! You will be dissapointed!

Awesome heavy duty bluetooth/portable speaker.
Great speaker. Got a good deal on Black Friday. Great sound quality, even better battery life, and easy functionality. Portable to a degree. Will need a bag with you to carry around, quite bulky. Good for small gatherings of about 5 to 7 people, or just for personal use. Go to the next XBOOM up if you want a party speaker. Definitely recommend this

Good sound, good battery life and blue connection is quick and reliable
Tried one when on holiday and loved it. The blue just connects within a second or two and doesn't drop. The sound is also great and does drop out which is very different to the Jam speaker that could take over a minute to connect and any gap in the sound the speak would turn off momentarily and not reconnect quick enough (big ben chimes on radio 4 just did not play for instance). No problem with LG.

Good quality
I've had various blue tooth speakers over the years usually spend between £20-£30 on them. I thought I would spend a bit more and you do get what you pay for with this brand. Really good sound quality, high volume and decent battery life too
