Dramm 12380 Heavy-Duty Brass Adjustable Hose Nozzle

UPDATE 5 MAY 2018:So it has been more than 4 years and I finally had to replace one of the O-rings. This nozzle takes 011 and 111 O-rings. If you don't know what size/dimensions they, do a cross-reference. I bought the 011 and 111 Viton O-rings from Amazon and while the cost for the 100/pk O-rings costs almost as much or more than a new nozzle, the nozzle will last forever and you just need to swap the O-rings from time to time. I used silicone lube as well. The washer/gasket for the main nozzle is just a standard garden hose washer.Original Review:This brass nozzle is Made in the USA out of solid brass. There are only 3 items that may require replacing in a few years: 2 O-rings and the gasket for the hose attachment. These are easily found, and I expect to replace the O-rings with Viton O-Rings if the originals ever wear out. One can procure a small bag for a few dollars, which would last almost a lifetime.The hose easily/gently twists open with a light fan-cone spray pattern, and as I turn it more and more, it progresses towards a powerful stream of water. It still relies on your existing water pressure, so don't expect any type of massive venturi action to magnify the pressure of the water. I find that it is plenty strong for washing cars, and the nozzle patterns are adequate for use with a garden hose. The water stream is powerful enough to blast off residue and road debris stuck onto a car. Turning the water on or off is the easiest thing, simply turn the nozzle tip clockwise or anticlockwise, it is smooth thanks to the O-rings.The nozzle is made out of brass, so try to avoid dinging it on the ground. The one thing that does concern me is that there is a warning on the box that indicates the brass contains lead, which seems to be the norm for brass.Overall: 5/5 stars, one of the best nozzles I've ever used to wash cars. it is extremely easy to use, and built like a tank with only 1 moving part (the adjuster portion) and 3 wear items (2 o-rings and the gasket) that are easily replaceable. It is also made in the USA.

High quality. We've had this brass adjustable hose nozzle for 10 years and it's still going strong. Other than looking tarnished, it works as well as when it was new.

These are the best, you cannot beat these, if you want to make them even better, install a nice quarter turn valve right behind it! We will never use those cheap pistol grip ones again. These things are heavy duty, and really well made! Great gift idea to by the way!

Best nosel on the market. Well made and highest water flow/pressure. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

I have an irrigation system in my yard that waters almost all of my plants, but I do have a section where the irrigation doesn't reach. I make it a point to put native and drought-resistant plants in that area, but I still need to water specific plants occasionally - like when I plant something new, or fertilize, or the drought goes on for ridiculous lengths of time. The problem is my hose doesn't quite reach far enough so I have to spray the water to reach the plants. I don't know how many plastic spray nozzles I went through, but none of them lasted very long and would start to leak or crack. For a while I tried the ancient and cheap method of putting my finger over the end of the hose to get it to spray farther, but I usually ended up getting a bit wet when doing that.So I went looking for a better hose nozzle and stumbled across this on Amazon. This is a classic design that has been around practically forever (or at least since I was a little kid, which is pretty much forever ago), is made from brass instead of plastic, and is MADE IN THE USA. You adjust the strength and circular size of the spray by turning the end of the nozzle, resulting in a range of a large circle of a misty type of coverage down to a small concentrated jet of water that shoots hard and far. Or you can turn it all the way to shut the water off. No leaking so far. This appears to be a well-built and useful nozzle that should last for a long time.If I had never used the plastic spray nozzles I would have given this one 5 stars, but I admit I do miss the pattern choices that you usually get with the plastic ones. I also think I prefer the "trigger" type of control over turning the end of the nozzle. However, the quality of this nozzle outweighs those minor issues for me. YMMVThe quality and price make this nozzle a no-brainer and I highly recommend it.

Not sure I ever owned one of these before remember them from back when I was a kid I wanted a good one and this doesn’t let down. I grabbed one at the Home Depot and just picked it up and can tell it didn’t have the weight or the precision quality bill that this one has course it was only six bucks but overall I’m extremely happy with the performance of this little nozzle creates a great fanning ability to use it to water, grass or flowers and a very nice jetstream so the true value will be how long it lasts, and we shall see.

In conjunction with the DRAMM brass shut off valve, this hoze nozzle is the best watering device I have ever purchased. It is made of brass, made in the U.S.A., does not leak & I wonder why DRAMM tries to make its shoddier plastic products made in China that leak & don't last long, wrecking their once stellar reputation. It is also SO easy & flexible to use & is really good with watering plants that are far away. With intermittent drought on the rise everywhere, reliable, non-leaky watering devices are key to reducing frustration for gardeners. On longevity, the jury is still out as this is my first season, but nevertheless I fell in love with the first one & ordered two additional ones.

Buy this and you will not regret it. For full disclosure I will tell you I did buy a highly rated hose nozzle from Amazon and it worked perfectly, but it ended up cracking and I had all of these holes in it and was worthless. Whatever you do, don't buy a plastic nozzle since it can break and crack.With this Dramm hose nozzle you can see why firefighters use brass. It last and can take the abuse of being dropped or of forgetting to turn off the hose over night. I have a large garden, I just planted new grass after having new sidewalks poured, and just overall I use this hose nozzle day in and day out.You can get a light spray out of it. I do that for watering herbs in my garden. However, with my tomatoes and zucchini I give them the full shot of water. It is so effective in spraying out the underside of a lawn mower deck.I had spilled wine on my porch and discovered it last night while cleaning. It did a nice job of removing that stain. The quality and the fittings on this nozzle are first-rate. This has been the best nozzle I have owned. Buy brass and skip the plastic nozzles. You will be glad you bought this Dramm.

Europe & US have different thread types so much to my surprise, I had no problem finding a metal 3/4 thread to Hozelock-style-bayonet adapter to fit this for use here in the UK. Quality is superb as was value for money. I have no problem recommending this item.

Nice and solid and shouldn't fall apart like the plastic ones. Good spray.An update one year later: Don’t buy another plastic hose garden hose nozzle – buy this one. The plastic ones break if they freeze, and if they survive the winter the plastic will become brittle and they will break within a year or two anyway. Buy this old school, fully adjustable (from mist to jet to flood) nozzle made out of brass with no plastic parts. Mine survived the winter outside and many drops onto the pavement. It is MADE IN THE USA and appears to be identical to the one I used as a child 40 years ago. I like it so much I just bought a second nozzle (one for the front yard, one for the back). Eventually in many years it will need new O rings or hose gasket, but those are just pennies at the hardware store.

I have looked for a high quality hose nozzles for long time. local stores don't have them anymore, fortunately amazon still have them! This Dramm hose nozzle is simply the best nozzle you can buy today on the market ! The quality is match or even better than the one from old days. Yes, it is big and heavy because it is true heavy duty brass. unlike the one from local stores which is made of aluminum but painted in brass color. I purchased 4 of them last year. all come with a rubber washer, although 3 of the washers are black rubber, one is in white. but hey are all working fine. These Dramm nozzles are not cheap, but definitely worth it ! that's why I buy 2 more for my parents in law today. They seem to last forever , make sure you get one before they gone.
