Absolutely amazing piece and I love the legs at the bottom to make sure that water is not absorbed into the vegetables!

**** SEPTEMBER 2, 2015 UPDATE **************************************Please read my review and earlier updates below. Here is a final update. I am updating to 5 stars after receiving a replacement from OXO. The replacement is an improved design that omits the spring that caused the handle to pop up. This was a great design modification by OXO. As far as I could tell, the only purpose served by the spring was to make the lid pop off the pot during use (I must admit it was amusing the first time it happened). The handle still telescopes up and down using friction in the telescoping mechanism to hold it in place - that system works great.I now recommend this steamer without reservation. My compliments to OXO for listening to reviewer comments on this issue and to implementing an effective solution.***************************************************************I like the design, very rugged and well built. I especially like the sturdy fold-down legs. I also liked the design of the pop-up handle with slot allowing you to lift the hot steamer with a fork. I would give this product 5 stars, like the majority of other reviews except for one big problem. The telescoping spring-loaded handle design permits three handle-height positions: fully down, half-way up and fully extended. The problem is that my handle will not stay down. With a lot of work I can get it to stay half-way down for a short period before it pops fully up on its own. I can rarely get it fully down and then for no more than a couple of seconds. When I get it half-way down, it tends to pop up when it gets hot during steaming and shoots the lid off my pot. I have to fully remove the handle (yes, it's removable) before I can use it for steaming. I don't know if this is just a manufacturing defect in my steamer, but if you have the opportunity, carefully check out the steamer in person before you buy one. Works great in small and large pans.

I love that the handle is removable and you cannot over tighten the handle when screwing it back on, the the only thing that I don't like is it's got a torque setting, when you twist the handle on it'll start clicking when it's tight enough but it's still fairly loose Plus the handle is fairly easy to bend by accident, but otherwise a very good steamer.

Used it for vegetables and for dumplings. For dumplings, I also picked up dumpling liners which are pretty cheap. It’s nice how the handle easily unscrews from the base if you don’t want to work around the handle.

This is the best steamer I have ever had. With the handle taken off, it fits nicely into my All Clad 3 quart D3 saucepan, and the lid goes on, too! It is very easy to clean!

Does the job. Sturdy with a comfortable handle. Large enough. From a reliable, often superior, manufacturer -- OXO. Recommended.

We had been using a broken steamer basket for years, who knows why. I finally ordered a new one, what was I waiting for? I will say that it is fairly large so I have to use my biggest sauce pan. I really like the handle in the middle.

Fits perfectly in my instapot mini. Turns it into a steamer, yay! The handle feels wobbly, but it seems like good quality so I think it's a design feature that it has some flexibility.

Muy contenta con esta compra. Es el mejor cacharro que he tenido para cocinar al vapor; se adapta a casi cualquier cacerola, se pliega y ocupa muy poco, de fácil limpieza y con un mango que se puede desenroscar muy bien pensado (para sacar la vaporera de la cacerola insertas un tenedor y así no te quemas).

Very nice steamer basket! It is a little bigger than I expected and larger than my old one that it is replacing, as you can see in the picture I posted. The old one lasted me over 30 years, so I expect the new one to pretty much last the rest of my life. What I really like about it are the longer feet which allow me to put more water in the pot which puts my mind at ease that the pot will not boil dry if I walk away for a few minutes, and yes, that has happened in the past with the old one. The extendable centre handle is very nice and makes it very easy to remove when it is hot, it is also easy to remove if you need to use all the space, but as I usually only cook for myself or two people at most, I doubt I will need to remove it often.I have used it a few times since getting it, mostly for vegetables and to steam hotdogs, and have found it very easy to clean afterwards. I haven't noticed that the edges are any more dangerous than they were on my old one, and I cannot see anyone who is familiar with this type of steamer having any risk of cutting themselves as they should be used to handling them.Overall, it is a great steamer basket for the price. You could probably find a cheaper one, but I doubt you could find a better one. The extendable feet are the main thing that put it over the top for me, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Came well protected and it is stainless steel. Quality is proven with no rust.
