I know the product says replace every 1500 gallons... what would you estimate that to be for time? 1 time a year? This is for a medical office buildin

This can be a little tricky, I would need to know how often the application is being used or how much gallons daily. However, the general rule is 3-6 months. Also, if you notice a drop in pressure, that's another good indication to replace. I am currently working as a Maintenance Director at 515-bed Nursing Home, Our policy is 3 months for all filters

Can this filter be plugged into the same socket as the elkay wsf6000r? i don't need 6,000 gallons per year.

Good Afternoon Douglas, As long as your water cooler has a NON-ENHANCED bottle filling station then yes, the 51299C 1,500 gallon filter will work. If you have an enhanced bottle filling station then you will need the 51300C which is a 3,000 capacity, half of the current capacity of the filter you are using now.
