Would give zero if given the option! Do not Buy if you are looking to buy a Real Silk scarf!! I received this item today and knew right away it was a cheap satin imitation of silk! I asked for a second option, and was told it was satin! Still in doubt, and in hope it was real silk and that I would be wrong I decided to perform the silk test! When I burned a piece of the silk patch that was sent it smelled of chemicals and not of burnt hair!! Also, another test to for real silk is if it Does Snag on un-smooth feet heels, where as with satin it does not snag. It also failed the second test.

I knew the price and description would be too good to be true. The cap I received was not real silk. The first hint was simply how it felt in my hands. Another way to tell if a material is real silk is to burn it and observe the smell and how it burns. Coincidentally, this cap came with a little scrap piece so I burned that and sure enough it was just a synthetic material.

I have been growing my hair out for three years now and in the past six months I started to struggle a lot with breakage at the end of my hair and split ends. Braiding my hair at night seemed to cause the ends that were free of the hair tie to become dry and straw-like overnight. I tried this silk cap hoping that it would keep my hair from breaking as much when worn overnight. I've used it for about a week now and I am very pleased with the results. My end breakage is down by around 90% and the ends of my hair look much less dry. It is very comfortable to wear and the elastic doesn't dig into my scalp or forehead (I wear a 7 1/4 hat size and put the cap behind my ears and wear the top up near my hairline instead of on my forehead).I did turn the cap inside out - the silk is woven in a satin weave, meaning that one side is shinier and more slippery than the other, and I wanted that side to be the one contacting my hair. It works fine, just doesn't look as good on. (Not that one can look awesome wearing a sleep cap. I told my husband if he hates it I won't wear it any more, but he seems to be amused by the entire thing.)It's quite comfortable to sleep in, and I'm a bit of a picky sleeper.Overall, very much a success, especially for the price.

i purchased this and the Pure Silk Hair Black Head Scarf, 100% Pure Mulberry Silk, OEKO-TEX Certified and the Black Slouchy Beanie Headwear Lightweight Bamboo Satin Night Sleep Turban Satin and this one was the winner.The Pure silk was much too long and difficult to tie. Fell off in the middle of the night unless i tied it very tight. But if i did that, the baby hairs that framed my head would flatten down in such a way that my head looked a mess in the morning.The Slouchy Beanie was nice and soft and look the most "glamourous" of the bunch, but it wouldnt stay on my head at night. No way to tight it down either.This one stayed on albeit is a bit difficult to place on. I am hispanic and have wavy to curly hair that goes beyond mid back. Takes a few tries to get my hair in the cap without mashing it. Stays on and looks like it did the day before in the morning. I look a bit funny with it on though ;)

I love this. I have very curly, frizzy hair that I have to re-curl every morning for a smooth & polished look. It’s a lot of work. I read sleeping in a silk cap might cut down some of that work. Without the cap, my hair was matted, frizzy and the waves/curls were stretched out & straggly in the morning. Now, with the cap, I only have to do some minor fixes to my bangs and that’s it! No re-curling my entire head. The curls are still there and look perfect! What used to take me 20 minutes, only takes me 5 now. And I’m not burning & damaging my hair every day! I love this cap!

The combination of sleeping in this silk cap and using a silk pillowcase has saved my hair.My hair is fine, and the quality suffered after I chemically colored it for years. Although I’ve grown out the dye, my hair never felt healthy again like it used to. I would wake up in the morning with snarls in my hair, which would cause a lot of breakage and hair loss brushing it out. The tangles would crimp my hair, making it more likely to tangle during the day. No matter what products I used, it just didn’t have the glossy, tangle free shine that I wanted.The very first time I used this cap and the Alaska Bear silk pillowcase, also available on Amazon, it was night and day. My hair was completely tangle free the next morning, and had a sheen to it. Brushing it out was easy. Plus, since I twisted it up under the cap, I had a body wave that lasted all day, without any product in it. My hair never holds a wave without enough shellac to varnish it. Using the cap, my hair had sheen and body.Pros:Well made, and so far it’s held up to nightly use.The elastic does not break or rub against the edges of my hairline, even though I wear the cap inside out (see below)It stays on all night. A cap won’t do much for your hair scrunched up next to you under the sheets. There are three small tails at the back of the cap, I assume to make it look like you’ve tied a scarf or silk bandana over your head. This cap stays on without my tying the tails together. If your head is more petite than mine, you could make the fit more snug through tying the tails, but try it first without.There is plenty of room for my hair. I have fine hair down to my mid-back, that is mostly straight. There is plenty of extra room for me. For those of you ladies complaining that there’s not enough room for your lustrous, full locks, I wish I had your problems. Your eyelashes are probably too full to blink properly, too. Is my envy showing?Cons:Like virtually every silk sleep cap on the market, the manufacturer sews it with the silk charmeuse to the outside. Sure, this looks lovely, but a silk cap is about nurturing and protecting your hair. The silky side goes against your hair. I turn the cap inside out, so the sheen is against my hair. That protects it from rubbing on rough material or breaking.There is not a lot of clearance at the top of your head. The room is at the back. If you have quite full hair, or height on the top of your head, the cap will press down upon it, flattening the style somewhat. This may be an issue for those using the cap to get two or three days out of a blowout.

Love this product. I would highly recommend. I can literally wake with my hair the same as I went to bed with. I have silk pillow cases but when I travel or sleep over at others i carry this instead. It’s perfect.

Wear it at night and it makes your hair soft and frizz-free!!!

Disappointed... the silk part of cap should be inside the capto keep the hair from tangling. Beats the purpose.

Quality of fabric was good and it fits well on the head. Not too tight. Not too loose.
