It isn't a heavy metal, it's very lightweight without feeling cheap. It comes in a lovely gift box making it perfect as a gift to an avid reader. Two less than stellar things: 1. since it isn't flat, it may create indents in pages if it stays there a while but that's not a deal breaker. 2. there are comparable items available at a lower price point that may be worth taking a look because $9.99 (at the time of this post) may be too steep. Overall, I think that this is a simple and beautiful bookmark that would make a wonderful gift.
