Would I buy it again-no, as it is not anymore effective than other methods. I had high hopes as this is more natural than other sprays.I have to take a puppy out several times at night. This does help but only somewhat. Using just the spray bites were reduced by about 1/3. Wearing long sleeves (despite temps in the 60's-70's) as well reduced the number of bites to perhaps 33% of bites with no protection.

This product was highly recommended by a friend. I am very skeptical of bug spray because they work but not very effectively. My wife and I went hiking and immediately after the start of a hike we were swarmed by mosquitos. Gladly, I brought the bucks the bug soother spray with me and we sprayed ourselves generously with the product and the bugs still swarmed around us, but they would not land on us! For four hours with hiked mosquitoes all around us and we only got bit twice once for me and once for my wife. This product works! Highly recommended.

I bought this product to keep the dang black biting gnats off my poor cat's face when she spends time outdoors. For some reason they love her and she's allergic to their bites so she breaks out a bit. I don't put this on her face. I just spray it towards her face about 12 inches away and so far I haven't noticed her getting bit so it must work. I have also used this on myself and maybe it's because I apply at the same way to myself that I still find myself getting bitten here and there. Maybe if I applied it more rigorously to all of my skin I wouldn't have any problems but I really dislike using any products. I will agree with other users and say this smells really good, especially after the lemongrass scent dissipates and the vanilla stays. I would purchase this again and I have even given it to a friend whose cat also gets bitten but haven't gotten feedback yet.

Not sure about prevention but does wonders for skin itch not just bug bites. My skin breaks out when it comes in contact with seafood. I used to work at a restaurant and this was amazing one spray every couple of hours instead of non stop itching when I got spattered

I don't leave a ton of reviews but after this morning I felt like I needed to review this product. I work on the Gulf Coast, right between MS and LA. The mosquitos at and around my office have been unbearable. I wanted a bug spray that I could use before/at work that didn't smell like chemicals, so based on the reviews, I ordered this product. The scent is very nice; it isn't too strong and it doesn't bother me when I get a whiff of it. I like the smell of essential oils, plus the vanilla is a nice addition. This morning, the mosquitos were swarming at both of the doors to the office. When I got to my desk, I sprayed a LOT of this bug spray on my legs and feet, then went back to unlock those doors. The mosquitos were still swarming around me, but the only bites I received were on my hand, where I didn't think to spray, and on the back of my leg, where I missed a spot. I was standing in a swarm of mosquitos and only got bitten in the areas that I didn't spray. I was really impressed by that. As far as residue on your skin, it does leave a very very slight residue, but it's certainly worth it to prevent getting eaten alive by mosquitos. I will be repurchasing without a doubt when I run out, but I honestly haven't even used that much of it yet. I would really like to see this in a wipe form so I can get better coverage without having to rub it in, but I'm very happy with this product.
