Right off the bat, I have to say English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy deserves all five stars. My English tutor recommended it to me as the best book for learning grammar on your own, and she was totally right. I’m not disappointed one bit – this book is just so well thought-out and effective.The grammar rules are explained in plain, straightforward language with zero confusing jargon. Each rule comes with immediate examples, so you can see right away how to use it in real life. This book met all my expectations and then went beyond them. I thought I was just getting a good textbook, but it turned out to be a real game-changer for me. The material is presented so clearly that even without a teacher, it’s easy to understand how to use everything properly.Thanks to this book, I feel a lot more confident speaking and writing in English — the improvement is obvious.

A lot of information and really good for knowledge.

It's an excellent book for improve my grammar skills. A friend teacher of the ESL program, at college, recommended me buy it. I'm studying one chapter daily and it has made me feel more confident.On the other hand, I didn't buy the third edition because I found this (fourth edition) in the same price; the teacher I mentioned, borrowed me the third edition and the fourth is an improve version of the third, keeping the same dynamic.

All Cambrigde books have excellent content. This book is for intermediate level (B1-B2), it contains a number of exercises with their answers and a guide to study all the units in which knowledge needs to be reinforced.

I make copies to use for my ESL class. I love that one page has rules and the other has a worksheet. I use it with multiple grammar points I teach in class. I have to make minor changes to American English, but it's just simple things like crossing out "holiday" and writing "vacation."
