UPDATE: I got a new dishwasher, and now these are working great and cleaning very well. So their performance may depend on what dishwasher you have.I wanted to love these, since they are one of the few natural brand tablets without a plastic wrapping. They do a decent job of cleaning, but not as well as other pods. There are always several dishes that need to be rewashed, as they have residue or soil left on them. Not bad, but I'm hoping to find one with better cleaning power, at least for my dishwasher.

I was excited to try this produce as it is more natural than the tablets I use now. Unfortunately, I used them once and my whole dishwasher has been left with a white cakey film all over it and over some of my dishes, although the rest came out great. I couldn’t risk using this product again as I did not want my dishwasher to clog up causing serious problems. I am back to using my regular tablets for now. 2 washes later and the dishwasher is still not back to normal. It is slowly getting cleaned out with the regular tablets but I feel it’s going to take a while. Such a shame - really wanted these to work. I’ll keep searching but everytime I read reviews on other natural tablets - they seem to encounter the same issue. Maybe they work better with some dishwashers than others. I’m not sure.

The outside of the wrapper is paper but the inside definitely seems to have a plastic coating. I'm going to include a picture of itI have a brand new dishwasher and if I put it on high temp they do ok. If I use regular settings they leave a residue. They are too high priced to be this bad at cleaning and still have a plastic wrapper

I always hand wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher for sterilization. (I hate to clean the filter, and I've seen too many people idiotically destroy their machines by regularly putting dirty dishes in them without ever cleaning the filter.) Since my dishes are mostly clean already, it's hard for me to say how well these tablets remove food residue. However, I can confirm that they don't leave spots or streaks on my dishes, which is far better than the brand I've been using.Their scent, while still noticeable, is much lighter than any other brands I've tried, which is wonderful, as I really dislike heavy cleaner smells. The only negative was that it left a lot of residue on a recyclable single-use metal pie pan. (See photos.) I'm not sure why this was, but it was made of a different type of metal than the silverware, so maybe that's why?There's no list of ingredients in the description. They are:Sodium Carbonate, Citric Acid, Sodium Percarbonate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid Disodium Salt, Protease, Amylase, Glycerol, Alkyl Glycoside.

Works great

I initially had high hopes for this product, but my experience has been deeply disappointing. After the first use, it left a stubborn film on my dishes, cutlery, and even the interior of my dishwasher. I spent over 45 minutes handwashing the residue off my dishes and scrubbing down my dishwasher to remove the film. Unfortunately, this product has caused more hassle than convenience, and I do not recommend!

I am very impressed with the effectiveness of the Natural Dishwasher Detergent Tablets by Bamboo Earth. I was worried that a cleaner that isn't a name brand and that uses plant-based ingredients would leave my dishes streaky and dirty, but this could not be further from the truth. They came out just as clean as using the traditional, chemical-laden detergent pods we buy at the store. I love that they are packaged in fully recyclable paper packaging instead of big plastic tubs that will probably end up floating around the ocean somewhere. I appreciate that these are free from parabens, phosphates, and other chemicals. I recommend these for anyone with dirty dishes...which is everyone.
