I previously had a 2L cold brew cylindrical glass jug that works but has a plastic handle that feels like it could snap from its own weight. It also barely fits in my fridge due how tall it is. This one works much better for me thanks to the relatively compact rectangular shape, short height, and much sturdier handle. While it only tops out at about 1.2L, this is more than enough for me. Takes me like 3 days to finish that amount of coffee. The most noticeable difference is the weight. This now feels more like taking out a carton of milk than a 10lb dumbbell. Very happy with this cold brew pitcher.

This cold brew maker is a dream! I am huge on come brew over here, and have gone through more than a few different brewers trying to find the right fit… this is the one!!! The measurement lines are accurate with coarse ground coffee- perfect! Saves me a step, weighing! This whole pitcher feels thick and quality. Unlike other pitchers, I feel like this one could easily survive a fall from my counter, AND bonus, it is 100% leakproof. Like not a drop spilled leakproof, so I wouldn’t even lose any cold brew in the process. As noted by another reviewer, I DO find the locks are extremely difficult to open, but it is brand new, and I am hoping after a few uses that eases up. It may not be that difficult for some users, but I have carpal tunnel and do currently find it’s a bit of a struggle. The filter is a fine mesh, but is NOT a steel mesh, which I typically prefer for longevity reasons, but this filter is designed in a way that I shouldn’t have to scrub it and risk the integrity of the mesh- so I am optimistic and will update my review if there are any issues with filter lifespan. Another bonus, it is absolutely fine enough to filter loose leaf tea- so I will certainly be trying that! Overall I think this is an AMAZING cold brew pitcher for the price, I do wish it was bigger, however, that’s because we are cold brew gluttons and not any dig towards the product haha. I may very well have to purchase a second to keep up with our demand!

This is a really fun and practical kitchen tool that works quite well over all. While the included instructions could stand to be a little more detailed, the coffee maker is actually really easy to use once you have figured it out the first time. And let's face it, when it's hot out it's hard to beat an iced coffee for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up! The coffee maker itself is solidly constructed and well sealed. I had no problems at all with drips or leaks and all the parts came together and apart smoothly, which is a huge help for cleaning. The package includes a scrubbing sponge with a handle for cleaning the filtration unit properly. The one area I found a little concerning is with the latches that hold the lid onto the pitcher. They don't have particularly good feedback when engaged - it's hard to tell that the lid has been securely attached. This is a bit nerve-wracking given the instructions recommend putting the coffee maker on its side in your fridge while brewing. Those latches can also be a bit tough to release again after. A different latching system would perhaps be more confidence inspiring. That said, the lid has never leaked on me, so clearly the latches work. One other thing to be aware of is that cold brewing coffee takes rather a lot of grounds. I like my coffee strong and found 110 grams of coffee to 1.2 litres of water (about 3-4 cups) was the right mix for me. Brewing hot coffee I'd use more like 60-70 grams of coffee for the same amount of liquid. That's not a fault of this coffee maker, of course, it's just how cold brewing works. All-in-all this is a really nice coffee maker that is easy to use, easy to clean, and makes a great cup of cold-brewed coffee.

Having gotten tired of paying the high price of cold brew coffee from the grocery store I was on the lookout for a way to brew my own cold coffee. When I saw this MAESTRI HOUSE House Compact Cold Brew Coffee Maker I decided to order it. The unit is extremely easy to use. Fill the filter unit with the desired amount of coffee grounds: 80g for medium strength, 100g for bold strength and 120g for extra bold strength. The filter has markings on it for these levels or you can weigh it on a scale if you want. Fill the pitcher with 1200ml of water, snap the lid onto the pitcher, place the filter unit into the hole in the lid and seal the lid with the cap. The manufacturer indicates that the best results are achieved when the pitcher is placed on its side in order for the water to come in contact with all of the grounds but I was very concerned that the lid would leak and I would have coffee all over the frig if I did this. For first pitcher I brewed I placed it on its side inside a glass casserole dish just in case it leaked but my concerns were unfounded as not a drop of coffee leaked out. After several days I took the coffee out of the frig and removed the filter from the pitcher. The results I achieved were amazing and at least on par with the cold brew coffee that I had been purchasing at the store. The filter is extremely easy to clean. Just unscrew the lid and the bottom and push the grounds out using the included measuring scoop/pusher. Rinse under water and let dry. The coffee can be stored in the jug and poured out by removing the screw lid. The jug does not leak or spill when pouring the coffee. I have brewed several jugs of coffee since getting this product and all have turned out excellent. With summer fast approaching I'm sure that this cold coffee brewer will gets lots of use. Based on my experiences using this unit I happily and highly recommend it. If you are a lover of cold brew coffee then this product is definitely worthy of your consideration. RATING 5.0/5.0 Priced at $49.99 at the time of this review.

Update: I received a new one. I tried it out for quite some time to be sure it worked. My original still has a slow leak. The new one is leak proof so far. I suspect that the real issue may have been initially over tightened and that might have damaged the gasket? I marked the lid so that I know how tight it was delivered. So far it hasn't leaked when I just tighten it back to that same point. Based on the new jug, I would have increased the star rating but formaome reason was unable to. Still not 5 stars because I think the gasket should be more robust but I would give 4⭐ This product is intended to be used on its side. And it makes a distinct difference in brewing when it is on its side. Unfortunately, when doing so it has a slow leak which results in a big mess over time. The mesh is very fine and does an excellent job of keeping your grounds, or leaves or grains, etc out of the main liquid for easy separation. I was worried that the pouring would be awkward or messy due to the style but it pours quite nicely. The carafe itself is rather nice and I would be happy to use as a jug but it is too tall for the short shelves on modern fridges at 24 cm tall.
