The only "job" these adapters have is to transfer the flow of electricity from the power source to the device. That's what the metal contacts are for. The adapter itself is not mechanical, it has no electronics or moving parts - there is nothing that needs to "work." Most of the poor reviews for these adapters are from people who think they are plug and play. They are not. CFL bulbs use a ballast. LED lights do not. In order for the LED to work, the ballast must be removed, taken out of the equation. This means you literally have to go into the ceiling/wall, find the junction box and snip the wires to bypass the ballast. I've done 5 of these in my home and they all work perfectly.

Disappointed that these didn’t work out. I was putting my Phillips Hue bulbs in and needed these to convert plug type. Connected 4-pin bulb worked fine. Tried conventional bulb in connector and bulb wouldn’t stay on. Tried both in box and complete failure. Had to give up after two hours of trouble shooting and going up and down two stories on ladders.

It works.

Edit to original review. Original review was negative. I had wired correctly w bypass of ballast. Problem was the wiring to the fixture was done with other lights on same circuit I had also removed them for replacement. After replacing both lights everything worked fine Apologies to seller for negative review

Product came earlier than estimated and packaged well. These adapters were exactly what I was looking for and function perfectly. Prior to buying these, I was considering just replacing my light fixtures completely, but that would've cost me at least a couple hundred dollars. Thanks to these adapters (and a little bit of elbow grease to bypass the ballasts, very important to do but fairly simple), I was able to keep my nice original fixtures, replace the old bulbs with more efficient ones, and all for less than $10! Only one minor complaint: Upon unwrapping the package, these had a very strong chemical odor, so I left them on the porch for a few hours to air out. Just a heads up if you're sensitive to smells or want to avoid off-gassing in your home prior to installation. Other than that, very satisfied overall!

It was the right attachment for my lamp, but it didn’t light the (brand new) bulb from another lamp. When I tried to remove it, found it was stuck. I tried to pried it loose, but only succeeded in pulling the lamp socket out of the lamp. Now my lamp is broken. I received a complete refund, but now my beautiful lamp is garbage.

I bypassed the ballast according to the wiring diagram on the product page. I bought the correct adapter according to the picture on the product page. This product, G(x)24Q to E26/E27 works great. I put a smart bulb in the socket and removed the photocell wiring because I don’t want the light on all night. It’s just as bright with this 7-watt Daylight LED as it was with the 26 watt fluorescent. I set the timer with the Smartlife App for on at sunset and off at 11. Like perhaps some of you, if you don’t want the light on all night, a smart bulb is the way to go.

These are great little adapters that have prevented us from having to replace several large, nice light fixtures entirely. The original fixtures used an odd and expensive fluorescent bulb that created a dim and sickly light. I was able to by-pass the ballast in each of the fixtures to use these adapters so we can burn LED bulbs. It took some work to make the changes but the positive changes were greatly appreciated. I would (and have) bought these again!

Does not last more than 2 min with an LED Light. The Light seems to be over heating and stops working.
