NICE PRODUCT..!!!

Ordered this on freedom sale and got this for only 3600. I was deciding between WD or Seagate but ended up on this as WD is somewhat more reputable than the latter. Now coming onto the HDD it's as good as it can be , the read write speeds are amazing and touches 100 MBps when copying one big file but slows down when copying multiple smaller file but this is not a fault of HDD so it's all good. LED notification light is also not that aggressively lit so you can easily work at night in dark. No vibration or any annoying sounds so it's definitely a plus. One thing I didn't like that much is the build quality. The plastic used is cheap and flimsy and does not feel sturdy in hand so if it falls down goodbye forever. Plastic quality could have been better. You need to register you Product at WD portal to avail warranty in future so do that as soon as you get it. It provides 2 years warranty instead of 3 years like Seagate so that's also somewhat off-putting. So overall nice for cheap unimportant data backup but I wouldn't trust this for important sensitive personal data as build quality is cheap but biggest plus is its affordability in fact go for Seagate or WD they both are good. Well so far so good but if any problem arise in future will update... happy Independence day.

The product is really really good and i'm really satisfied with it. Been using it since many months and just actually got reminded to review it. It is really better than it's price. I've opted for the 1.5TB and the thing is it is very good very portable. Getting 1.5TB in your pocket with all your stuff is just insane. It has a good speed of 100MBps. Yes u heard correct. And sometimes it's greater than that. It goes to 115MBps sometimes. However, depends on your media too what type of media it is. Also don't get confused with mbps and MBps. I'm saying more relevant for what customers look for (as i also got confused). In the down side after months of usage (now), if i touch it on the surface i get cracking sounds but it is working perfectly fine. I guess it is something to do with the plates of the Hard Disk but well it is working so..didn't mind much. The cable is a little small but very good quality. Would suggest to not twist it as it is fiber optics, it could get damaged if you play with it or mess around. Also would really suggest to carry a case for it. You can see couple of cases in amazon which fits it. It makes it a whole lot protective to any potential damage. And it is better to carry it with the cable too. Thanks! I'm writing this review after my return period. I bought this device on 3rd October from Appario Retail. Its a trusted seller. When I purchased it, there were some offers and the price was dropped to 3799 excluding 10 percent SBI debit card discount. I don't think it'll go more cheap. It's a standard margin. Shipment took some delay but was delivered one day before they promised. Packaging was good. Product was imported from WD's factory in Thailand. My shipment started it's delivery from a depot in West Bengal. My HD got no visible damages like scratches. When I checked with Crystal Disk Info, it previously turned on for four times (and less than an hour) which I believe; for factory tests. Test using Crystal Disk Mark showed 120-130 MBps write speed. Actually I got around 85 MBps for large 7zip files. But for smaller files, it'll reduce up to 20 MBps, which is natural-it depends. When copying large files, it'll easily heat up as there is no fan or other cooling measures (upto 46 degree Celsius in my case). So give a break while large operations. Usable storage space is around 1.36 GB after system reserve. One may alter it with any partition software. There is no hardware encryption in Elements series. You can manually encrypt your sensitive files to overcome this demerit. Also comparing with Passport series, this one is less glamorous. But the cost will compensate it. Additionally, this one is really light weight and simple, so don't hesitate to buy a standard pouch. It'll worth. I registered my HD in Western Digital website. They verified the Serial Number and ensured a 2 Year warranty in a reply mail. I'll update if any complaints occur in future. *pics enclosed

Bought it a few years back, almost 4-5yrs. Works fine till date, no issues at all. Descent backup speed and capability. Hardly any noise and no data loss till date ( I regularly backup atleast every 2-3months ). The storage size I got for the price was it's USP.

I brought this external hard disk for 5k after that I stored massive ammount little by littel my pc is low ended ,and I just think my pc has 1tb hard drive and this one is also 1tb that's why it writting data very slow by eventually my pc stop showing the disk in my computer section but I will appear on windows manager and I'm getting a feeling about it am I brought a scum product and I started searching abou the the problem and I got one and I plucked the harddrive usb into my cou it gives a sound like beep and beep continuesly I searched it on Google they said it is a rotating pin and it was broken my heart was also ,and I searched for to return the product after a day I found one thing it was registered before it returned and I regester it and they give me a RMA number and the send me a shipping address and I shipped it I expect the fix the problem and return it but they gave me a new one to day 😶
