Highly recommend even if you're not a doctor or nurse practitioner.
I always wanted one of these growing up, and now I have one even though I'm not a medical doctor. Great sturdy construction. Built with good materials, feels weighty and looks like it will last for a bit. Only concern is if you place your hand over the part that sits on a persons' chest, or if you fingers lightly touch that area, it picks up the sound of your fingers rubbing against it. Perhaps this is normal, but it seems overly sensitive to sound. The work around is you lightly place two fingers around the part, and you can usually get away without any noise distortion. I like using this to listen to my pets heartbeat, my own heartbeat, my lungs, stomach. It's really neat, everything I imagined, and can be quite soothing to use at times. Highly recommend even if you're not a doctor or nurse practitioner.
