This cord protector is awesome, although it wasn't long enough for my MacBook pro cord. I would've given this product 4 stars for that reason, but I've added an extra star since the seller resolved the issue quickly and easily. I ordered this 5 months ago when I realized I would need to replace my power cord soon. Well, the cord lasted longer than I thought and finally died last week. I had a new one ready and wound the protecter around the cord. It only covered about 2/3 of it. I went back and looked at the listing and saw there was a warranty so I contacted the seller. They got back to me a couple hours later and told me they would send out a replacement. I just received the new one today and I have a fully protected cord now. Yay! I'm so impressed that they helped me out even though I contacted them 5 MONTHS after I ordered this. They really didn't have to. Anyway, long story short - 5 stars.

Very easy to install, is rugged and offers good protection for the cable inside.

I hope they help, but it's hard to tell until the cord stops working for wear. So far it's only been months so I'll report back.

I do not think that it is really doing anything, good in theory but on in really life.

It was not difficult to install, but was a little time consuming until I got it down.The material was enough to cover two of my Mac charging cords, both of which started developing a split in the outer covering. This material gives it an extra layer of protection, preventing it from bending too far and from areas where the cord may rub against something repeatedly, like the edge of my desk.Some say it offers protection from pets, but my dog would just think it was a nice crunchy layer which would likely only add 10 extra seconds to her enjoyment of the cord. :)It is difficult to tell from just a couple days of use, but it looks like it will help and it feels much less fragile whenever I handle the charging cable. I have a feeling that the cord will be a dust and dirt collector, and that this will be the main reason to replace it after so long. The way it wraps around the cable creates many edges to collect dust, lint and dirt.I added some tape to the frayed part of my cord first, then went over the tape with this material. If you are looking for it, you can see that the part with the tape sticks out slightly more than the other portion of the cable, but I feel a little better knowing that part has some extra protection.

Installed this protector and was very hopeful that it would save my cord. However, after a month of use, the cord is still fraying and there is no way for me to tuck the cable protected back into the hard plastic cover that I installed (because it cannot be removed). Will have to find another solution.

I can see how it protects the cable, but there should be enough product to cover the cable, especially for $10.In order to adequately cover the length of the cable, you would have to buy two and cut the second one in half.Next time I will order from someone else or inquire if the protector is long enough.

I have used everything to fix my apple charger wire when it gets splits. It's inevitable and I've managed to not have to replace them for a couple years at a time as they are expensive. Then I watched a tutorial on IFIXIT and saw what looked like an old time wall phone curly cord. Only it was much smaller. Fits the cord like a glove. I thought, what a novel idea and I don't have to use all the other stuff which worked but was unsightly. I put good quality electrical tape over the split and started putting this little miracle on my cord from the bottom to top. It's the ANSWER to this problem. Note: my wiring was not frayed but I wanted to tape the split in the covering together first. In the tutorial they used shrink wrap first This takes a little while to put on but it's well worth the time and it looks better than all the other DIY methods I've tried. I heard choirs and angels singing, it's that good. Granted it's only been days I've had it on but I can tell from the design, it's going to protect the cord. This is what the MAC designers should be using but then you wouldn't have to replace it at almost $100 a pop.
