EGW Docter Sight Mount for 1911

Able to install on Rock Island 1911 on 1st attempt with use of sight pusher tool and gun lube. No need to file down optic dovetail. Highly recommend!!

This fit my Rock Island 1911 GI Standard FS in 45ACP. It was incredibly tight though and needed some type of lubrication and a soft mallet and punch to scoot it on. I would recommend getting it professionally installed. If you don't plan to do that then understand this isn't something that can be done on a kitchen table. Like it won't budge unless it's clapped down in a vise. To make things a little easier I filed down a very small amount of the mating surface on the mount (as opposed to the gun slide) to make it ever so slightly easier but I don't get the feeling that was required. Just helped me since I didn't have the best set up to do this. Now that it's on it holds my Vortex Viper really well. Hasn't budged with a couple hundred rounds casually through it.

Depending on the weapon, custom fitting will have to be done.Nice fit.

Does not fit Remington 1911 R1

I understand this part requires minor fitting but this thing is ridiculously oversized for a GI dovetail. Expect to do a LOT of filing/fitting. Even after fitting the dovetail I found that the bottom of the mount was not square. I have never had a problem with anything from EGE but I wish I would have tried a different mount.
