Bible pages are like tissue paper. It's hard to find something that doesn't transfer through. There's an abundance of stationary for other paper and that's not weird, just like it's not weird if something is marketed for a niche style of paper :) you don't HAVE to use them for the Bible. But they work great for it. The Bible is just a great example of the type of paper it can be for. Not everyone knows what the pages of a lawyers text book is like, but a lot of people know what the paper of a Bible is like. Hope this helps! ❤️

Does the ink go through the page?

no, it's not ink it's more like a soft crayon that doesn't smear. they are really nice and the colors are fun.

Can I use these to highlight handwritten notes?

I highlight print in books with no problem, and also used it as a highlighter over writing I did with my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner (a fine marker). When I tried highlighting over my Pilot G-2 Gel pen (after waiting a minute for the gel ink to dry), the ink from the gel pen smeared a little; I wouldn't use it again for that.

Can you write over once you highlight?

The short answer is yes, BUT it’s like writing through a crayon scribble . The “highlighter” is really not a highlighter at all, it’s like a long crayon.MAJOR disappointment
