Even this edition is better then most other similar books
I purchased this to replace the copy I purchased from Lindsay Books many years ago (loaned it out). This is a much earlier reprint than the version sold by Lindsay. In contains much of the same information; however, I prefer the editions from the 30's - 50's, while this one is from 1919?. Even this edition is better then most other similar books; however, the later/better editions are also still available from other sellers.

Good primer for lathe owners who are new to machine work
Although I have lathe experience, I recently purchased a South Bend 9A and found this book helpful!

Obviously a little outdated but it still covers all the basics and for a real beginner which is no bad thing.

Very useful.
I used this book quite a lot. I had recently purchased an old lathe with little to no experience and was unable to find any information about it. But this book helped a great deal. I still dig it out from time to time when I’m stuck on something.
