During a fire, chemically dependent fabrics rely on a chemical reaction to extinguish the flame. So in short it will burn but not easily or well.

The tape is high-quality double sided tape. It won’t damage the granite.

Q: Can this be cut to fit multiple areas?

Sure, I cut it with a sharp kitchen knife. It's soft foamy stuff. But don't forget to first unroll and lay it out straight for 12-24 hrs so it uncoils.
