Go Away, Big Green Monster!

Love this book! So cute. Monster goes away little by little.

My preschoolers love this book! It helps them take control over their fears, and even find the silliness in some of them! Their favorite line is “and don’t come back until I say so!”

This is such a fun book to read. My 3 year old and 7 year old both love it. My 3 year old has memorized it and loves to "read" it on his own. Definitely one worth keeping on the shelves!

This book holds such a special place in my heart. My son absolutely loved it, and it quickly became one of those stories that defined a stage of our lives. By the time he was four, he had memorized every single word. All I had to do was turn the pages and show the pictures, and he would recite the entire book with confidence and excitement. What made it so magical was how empowering it was for him. The simple, repetitive language and bold illustrations helped turn something scary into something manageable—and even fun. Watching him “send away” the monster page by page felt like watching his confidence grow in real time. Looking back now, it’s more than just a children’s book. It’s a snapshot of quieter days, bedtime routines, and that fleeting age when imagination ruled everything. Those really were the days.

My kids love this book. Looks like these always teach them life lessons and spark other types of conversations. We referenced them when needed as adults.

My 3 year old grandson enjoyed telling the story with the hand puppet while Grandma read the story. Fun!

Because of the monster stories on YouTube by Ed Amberley, my daughter asked for these books, she is autistic and it really influenced her to try to read the book and even ask for Me to buy it for her!!! So it is a super big plus for us! We own the big green monster and nighty night little green monster. And would love to get more. The book is really good quality, pictures are really cute and it is interactive so that makes us happy. And we read it every night it actually helps her get tired and get to bed! So thank you and Amberley for these books!

Livro incrível, mas cuidado com crianças pequenas pois as folhas são muito finas. Minha filha brinca com esse livro desde 1 ano, pois não consegui esconder dela, e ela o ama. Como tem usado bastante e as páginas são finas, já rasgou uma página. Sugiro comprar para crianças maiores, que consigam manipular páginas frágeis.

Ideal para repasar las partes de la cara en inglés, además es muy original la forma en la que se presenta, como el monstruo va quedándose sin las diferentes partes de la cara. También se pueden trabajar los miedos, los colores... Lo he utilizado con peques de 3 a 5 años y les ha gustado mucho.
