They work great! Should have installed them a long time ago!

Just what we needed.
These fans were just what we were looking for.We used 2 of these fans on the roof of our 8x10 chicken house. We have had a very hot summer with little rain here in Georgia and the temps in the chicken house were extremely high and the four windows were not moving enough hot air out to make it comfortable for the chickens to lay eggs during the day. Our chickens, ducks, and geese are all in the same house (yep they get along fine!) and they free-range all day long. While they don't spend much time in the house during the day, I always like to keep the option of going inside available. I knew that I didn't need a massive fan like for an entire house so this fan was perfect. What people need to understand is that this fan is not that powerful. I mean the 8 watts compared to a full house attic fan, around 30 watts is a huge difference! In my opinion this 8 watt fan is only good for small spaces. This is why we bought 2 fans. We placed each fan on the roof at the end of the gables of the house. With 2 fans running during the day there is enough circulation in the house to direct the rising heat out. We have 2 box fans in the windows to bring air in as well. This set up is great for our needs but might not be what others need or want. I just want to make clear that for an 8x10 chicken house these fans do move the air out which is what we intended them for. Your experience might be different. If your expecting this attic fan to cool off large areas your looking in the wrong place. For larger areas you would need a higher watt fan. This fan has meet all of our expectations and is exactly what we were looking forThanks!I wanted to edit this review to say that both of these fans are still working everyday! They are still providing the air movement that we need inside of our chicken house. We have done minimal maintenance (cleaning off the cell, keeping debris, bugs, whatever cleaned out) and they keep on charging and spinning. Great product.

Motor died within a year
This is an update, The motor/ bearings started squealing for about a month before the motor failed completely. I have not tried to replace it from the supplier, I don't need a larger hole in the roof while I'm waiting and it was minimally effective any way. The following is the first review ---The unit works, but I'm not sure yet to what degree of effectiveness given the current outside temps. The motor seems to be on par with a cooling fan motor from a laptop, but metal blade is about duct size. It should be adequate for my needs, but don't expect too much if your exhausting a structure.

Questionable Durability--does the job for now
Construction quality is fair at best. Solar panel has rough cell solder that doesn't inspire confidence for long-term durability or life of the product. The film covering the solar cells looks like it will yellow with age reducing overall effectiveness of the fan. Plastic body is light weight and will not hold up to hail damage or prolonged exposure to the sun. The construction reminds me of the plastic attic vents home builders were using 20 years ago. The sun weakened the plastic to the point that a hail storm destroyed the bodies of these vents and all had to be replaced with metal vents. There is no way to adjust the solar panel to optimize sun exposure. The fan spins at a modest speed with full sun and should handle smaller areas okay. The fan didn't appear to be perfectly balanced yet spun freely. No sheet metal screws or roofing nails are provided. If the instructions/warranty sheet included with the attic fan were printed on larger paper, the manufacturer could have included a template for the maximum opening required for installation. The 20-year warranty is very optimistic in my opinion. I've provided this feedback to the manufacturer/seller. Hopefully, they will improve upon this basically sound design with a product that is more durable and flexible.

easy to install but didn’t last. 4 months
works as described. easy to install. didn't really have instructions other than the paper telling you to reference youtube which was kind of funny. but its pretty self explanatory. as for the energy savings I didn't notice much. it starts spinning as soon as it gets sunlight.I ordered and installed this fan in July. 4 months later in November I went up after the first good weekend of rain to check around the fan and make sure nothing looked like it would leak. Bright sunny day and the fan no longer works. Basically is now another roof vent. Next time I go in my attic I’ll check from underneath but I’m in no hurry. I will now drop this to two stars

Works well
The media could not be loaded. Product works as well as could be expected. Installed in top of shipping container used for tool shed to reduce summertime temperature. Containers are air tite so you must also have a vent in the bottom somewhere to draw air in.

I am very happy with the fan
I purchased this item for my shed roof. I would not use such a small fan for a whole house set-up. They sell higher wattage ones that can move the air for a house. The hole size is approx 7 inches in diameter. It provides enough opening to move the hot air out, with assistance from the fan to pull it out of the shed. I am very happy with the fan, I would have like some sort of insect screen added to the openings to not allow in bugs, yet to have that issues. Note: none of these fans have insect guard, I have had to add it to my bigger solar fans on the house. This product you do get what you paid for. Can you feel the air beings sucked out, barely, but is it working yes. The best part is it is a one and all setup. There is not a need to do your own solar panel to fan wiring, and figure out the transition of power levels.

House is cooler than Ever.
Perfect Exhaust for your attic window or upstairs bathroom window. Finally got a chance to add this to my Garage + 2nd floor Window. After trying multiple other options, i found this to be the BEST option. My Garage & my house is not only cooler than ever, it took a big bit out of my A/C related Electricity Bill. Highly recommend. Awesome product folks.
