Karl- first, I own it, I love it but no bag with this construction is watertight! If it lightly rains that is one thing but in a solid rain yes your gear will get wet. I live in Washington State and it works for me? I haven’t lost a piece of gear yet. But like I said, it isn’t design to sit in the bed of your truck while driving through the carwash

It's made with a ballistic fabric. The bag is the best I've ever owned. Lots of storage compartments, my wife and I use it to store both of our inner and outer duty belts, 4 guns (a revolver each and a semi auto each), ammo for 4 guns, 12 magazines (3-15 round each and 3-10 round each) for duty in different states, 6 knives, 4 flashlights. This bag, is a BEAST!!! You won't regret buying one, everybody loves the bag. They love it even more, when they see everything that's stored in it.

Q: Is it possible to lock this bag?

The need to lock a firearm bag is often required by law (CA). But the definition of ‘lock’ is not specifically stated, so any creative effort to put a simple cable lock on the zippers /zipper pulls for the areas where guns or ammo are stored will be sufficient to satisfy the law. These fabric bags are not ‘waterproof’ or secure against a determined effort to break into them. ( i.e. knife, scissors, etc.) They are not intended to be a secure gun safe - just legal means to transport firearms to and from a range.
