Charting and Technical Analysis

This book provides an in depth, easy to understand, overview of technical analysis trading principles and techniques. My only criticism is that the book uses black and white charts with low cost printing, so it's a bit difficult to tell green from red. The white/green candles are light grey and the black/red candles are dark grey. Otherwise an exceptional book for the price.

When I first read it I thought it’s just the same the first one I bought. But it’s very different because this books really explained further what’s the meaning of patterns and candle sticks. It gives you some examples too and don’t be in a rush to read it. Read it slowly so you can understand well his point. What I don’t like is only the color of candlestick. It’s hard to differentiate the candle if it’s closed by majority of buyer or sellers. This one only but the explanation is well explained.

As I have been trading for a while, I began by skimming through this book. By page 40 I decided to go back to the beginning and read it thoroughly. Every topic is clearly and concisely written with a simplicity that makes it easy to understand and comprehend to beginning and more advanced traders. I was impressed by the fact that the important aspect of the psychology behind price patterns was outlined which is important as you comprehend the reason why some price patterns can be relied upon while others less so. Another aspect that is specially difficult with a book based on charting patterns, is the fact that each chart tells a story which is unfolded as each new candlestick prints, and keeping pace with that story thought the chart can be complex and confusing. Mr. McAllen deals with this in a refreshingly clear manner, enough detail to make the topic clear without drowning it in a sea of detail. This book is very worthwhile and I would certainly recommend it to all.

Według mnie jest to mocno przeciętna książka. Cała zawarta w niej wiedza jest dostępna w internecie bez większego wysiłku w szukaniu jej. Z pewnością książka pomoże totalnym żółtodziobom, ale nie jest to wiedza, która spowoduje, że zaczniesz zarabiać na rynku.

I really recommended the book for begginers, it will help you with some usefull tips. I miss a better pictures, they are dark. That's why a 4 star
