Nice job Nikon.
This is a really sleek option, really well made and does as advertised. Can see clearly through the lense to front sight with it on or off .Plus it looks really cool. The only thing I wish it had would be an auto on ability. As I mounted it on a tactical home defense shotgun I donβt like having to press down on a rather small button for three seconds to turn it on . Other than that, itβs a great choice and happy with my purchase π .

Best Red dot for the Money
This is an incredible red dot for the price point. Looks are the most appealing cosmetically 2nd to the Trijicon RMR. However, you WILL have issues mounting this to a milled-out slide. The front lip of the base plate as well as the rear are curved and will not fit a standard milling. You will need to take the optic and the slide to the same place for them to take exact measurements. There are no adapter plates on the market (at least not that I have found) that will make this fit.

Small and bright.
The size is perfect; the dot is bright. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the β+ and -β buttons could be a little more positive. You push and sometimes nothing happens. They are kind of mushy, especially the β-β one. However, it all works and works well. I mounted this on a .22LR, so durability is not really in question.

Okay I guess
This thing has a weird optical view, like the glass is slightly magnified, or the glass is curved. I dont know how to explain it other than it gives a weird sight picture. Maybe I'm just used to tube designed red dots, but this micro dot kind of gives me a headache to look through. The picture through the sight is slightly different than its surroundings making for a weird experience. I think I'll just stick to tubular red dots.Maybe it's just the end user and I'm not used to it. Other than that it is made of quality material from a company making glass for a long time so I dont have any worries about build quality....update, had an issue with this thing eating batteries, sent it to nikon and it's been at their factory for over a month. When I talk with customer service they advise they dont know when they will have the replacement. So it's up in the air if i ever get this back. Pretty disappointed.

Trucolor is no joke
I'll start with what I thought worked. The Trucolor claim is what really got me interested in this. After I got it in my hands, and was able to look through it myself, I was quite impressed. If there is any blue tint there, it's pretty difficult to see.Nikon provides a handy little tool in order to remove the battery cap and make adjustments. The tool makes both pretty painless. The battery cap is also located on top, so you do not have to remove the whole red dot in order to gain access to the battery. The dot itself is very crisp, and the field of view is decent. The buttons are located on the side, and seem to work well. The Spur appears to be well built. I definitely don't baby it, but it's not like I beat the tar out of it on purpose either. I suppose time will tell how well it holds up.I mounted the Spur on top of a Steiner M332 which sits on a Colt Trooper. Although I haven't put a ton of rounds down range with it yet, everything seems to be staying secure. Now for what didn't work. I'll mention the biggest issue for me first. Maybe it was just mine, but when making adjustments, I didn't hear a click. I had to kind of go off of feel, and was able to get the red dot set up where it needed to be.My next gripe is pretty minimal. As you can see in the picture, the red dot says P Tactical on the side. Not a big deal in any way, just not my cup of tea. I just don't feel the need to plaster tactical all over. At least it's not a punisher or spartan logo. Finally, for those of you wondering, the Spur is made in the Philippines.

Rugged and super clear and easy to see.
Mounted on 12 ga. shotgun for home defense and deer hunting with slugs. Easy to sight in, and seems to handle the recoil of slugs well. Very clear glass, easy to see dot. I like the waterproof feature too. The Vortex Venom makes no claim to be waterproof or water resistant. But, it does have a lifetime warranty. The Nikon has a 5 year warranty.

No issues, good value.
Mounted this on my Ruger MKIII Hunter using a picatinny rail. I followed the instructions and tightened the mounting screw using a torque wrench. No issues with stripping or loosening. Used it in brilliant sunshine, dot was easy to see and round. No issue putting battery in using supplied tool. Had to adjust left 2" and up 1" at 25 yards. Easy to adjust using supplied tool and holds zero. Very happy with the product.

Awesome reflex sight
Mounted as an offset transition sight on a Springfield Armory Saint. You will have to resight it if you change the batteries.Other than that,I have no complaints about it.It does it's job and does it well. Can't beat the quality of it for the price.I will probably put it on a handgun eventually instead of where I have it.
