Review: Great find - Great movies lucky to find this cheap Review: Great price, hard to find item - Very happy with this purchase. I love these movies because they had a unique zombie story at the time that they came out. I still like them all these years later! When I heard that there was going to be a new, 3rd movie coming, 28 Years Later, I wanted to watch these again. No one has been streaming them because the company that made them lost the rights. I started looking to purchase them and saw that sellers were asking hundreds of dollars because it is rare find. I was very happy to find them on desertcart for a good price!

28 day / week double feature. Pretty decent but not terribly fabulous.
Review of double feature pack. Over the years, we as movie fans have become so spoiled and jaded that sometimes when viewing older movies for the first time, we see them as Meh, I have seen this all before and loose sight of the original creativity. That said, and as a fan of the "Walking Dead", and I don't mean the boring "Fear Of", out of all the zombie movies that preceded that series, I have not seen any movie that had more conceptual ideas incorporated into "Walking Dead" than the 28 day/week series of flicks. No spoilers here and I will offer no more examples but suffice to say, if you enjoy what I have described above, then surely you will get a kick out of these movies and try to find the double feature version and get a good Amazon deal, as I did. Enjoy.

For those worried about video quality: PLEASE READ!
There are MANY people complaining about the video quality of 28 Days Later. This is not a conversion from DVD to Blu-ray problem, it is not a quality control problem. In fact, it's not a problem at all. This looks exactly like it did in the theaters, it looks just like the director intended. The main character wakes up completely confused, with no idea what's going on, he thinks he is dreaming. This is why everything looks out of focus, and highlights are glowing. If you pay attention the film effects start out hazy and dream like, and waver from sharp focus and back to a dream like state for the first half of the movie as the main character tries to deal with the new world he has been thrust into. It's only when reality completely sinks in for the main character and his urge for survival finally emerges completely that everything is in crystal sharp focus. It really upsets me that so many people gave this movie one star because of the video quality, when in fact it was intended to be this way to tell a more complete story.

28 Days/Weeks Later DVD
Works like charm and condition is great! It also came with a small plastic air pillow, to minimize discs being detached in the box. Nice.

I love both of these movies
First thing: I love both of these movies. And by love, I mean they are both in my top 5-10 movies of all time. I can watch 28 Weeks Later monthly, and it never gets old. Two separate but amazing productions, and I want nothing more than to see a sequel released, preferably with Danny Boyle or maybe someone like Bloomkamp at the helm. That is the first thing I need to state. Last night, I went to watch 28 Weeks on my in-laws premo system (typically I just watch at home on my laptop with my dvd copy) and I was Shocked; I repeat SHOCKED; to see how incredibly terrible the video quality was. I have read some other peoples reviews, and they state that the movies were made to look grainy. I could maybe see this being the case for 28 Days, but 28 Weeks was a smoothly polished, flowing work of art, and I clearly remember not thinking when I saw it in the theaters on release that "Hey, that persons face looks like a bunch of pixels". Yes I understand that video technology has gotten better. But I think the reality is, at least for the 28 Weeks disc, that this release is simply an upscaled dvd copy ported over to Blu-Ray format, and then sold as a double package to keep the franchise making some money. I only buy Blu-Rays for movies that I want to watch at my in-laws house, since we do not have a good setup at home (talking Dark Knight, Sunshine, Prometheus, Pacific Rim, District 9, to name a few) so everything we watch is fine on dvd. I really regret purchasing this combo, and I hope that others will heed my warning. Buy the individual copies on Blu-Ray (if they exist) and maybe the product will be better. I just get so disappointed when some a-hole exec of a backwater distribution company acquires selling rights, outsources the project to china or wherever, and we the customer watch our beloved series get dragged through the mud. I don't post many reviews on here, and I am always suspect of tons of temporal consecutive glowing 5-star reviews (as it seems this combo does have), so know this people: I am a verified person who purchased this product, and I love this franchise enough to take 15-20 minutes of my day to explain to everyone what an incredible rip-off/POS this product is. You have been warned.

Two Great Films for The Price of One.
I have to say I enjoyed 28 days later more than 28 wks later. They are both great thrillers, but nothing beats the original.

Two BD-50 discs (one for each film) - considering the price, what a great deal!!!
For anybody wondering, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this double feature film package comes with TWO Dual Layer (50 Gigabyte) Blu-rays inside - one for each of the two feature films.dud Furthermore, it looks like each BD-50 disc includes a reasonable amount of extra features on top of the feature presentation. In other words, the discs are the same ones which were featured in their respective solo releases. The films are fantastic (among the best zombie genre flicks), and the video/audio quality is the best I've seen so far, although not perfect. When ordering my copy of this dual feature film Blu-ray release from Amazon Canada, I paid under $10.00 (not including tax and shipping). And after seeing for myself what I ended up getting for my money (two BD-50 discs - one for each film and packed with extra features), I just had to let others know that this is an absolutely fantastic deal. I thought that I was going to be getting both films on one BD-50 disc, and with little to no extra features (I'm glad that wasn't the case). Bottom line: great zombie films (especially part 1), good audio/video quality (part 2 better than part 1), a fair amount of extra features for each film, and all for an amazing price under $10.00 CAD. I'm extremely happy with this purchase, cheers!
