Keep fry safe
Super simple set up, keep babies away from big fish but in same tank.

Great for isolating freshwater shrimp!
Perfect for my purposes. I should've known better, but I introduced 10 high grade red cherry shrimp to a tank with black skirted tetras. They quickly got picked off one by one. I happened to have ordered this for my future tank so I placed my remaining 5 shrimp in this net. Saved me from a complete disaster. It will be a great temporary fix until I have a separate tank ready and cycled. Is it kinda flimsy? Yes. But it also cost <7 dollars. It comes in 6 easy to assemble pieces. 4 rods that make up the sides and two rectangular frames. After you snap these together, the net (which is a fine mesh bag with a drawstring) goes around the frame and you cinch it in place and tie it off. This design means that there is space between the frame and bag. And as previous posts mention, a small creature could get smashed or stuck. There are two aluminium rods on the top frame that you bend to hook on your aquarium wall. The mesh is very fine and I plan on trying it out for breeding my shrimp. There is no lid so it must sit above the water line. At the top, the net does come in an inch or so from the main frame.Overall, great buy for me but not suitable for all purposes.

Great little isolation tank
Much better than the Lee 2-way guppy breeder, for my purposes, which is just to isolate tiny fish that survive unplanned birthings in my community tank. It may not last forever if you break it down and reassemble it often, which I'm going to try to avoid. I did have to remove the entire top of my 36g bowfront to get this container inside the tank, as it's bigger than the opening. The pieces of metal on the top rim that should serve as clips don't work well on my tank, but I was able to shove them out of the way and use a bulldog clip to fasten the upper rim of this container directly to a ridge inside my aquarium top, where it's secure AND high enough above the normal water level that nobody can jump in or out, no bigger fish could jostle this loose and "liberate" the small fish, etc. The white netting allows you to see the small fish from the outside, a little, while hiding them from hungry outsiders, and there's no top to fuss with so feeding and closer examination are a breeze.

WORKS WELL
WOULD BE GREAT IF IT HAD A GRATE IN MIDDLE SO THAT FRY OR EGGS CAN FALL TO BOTTOM AND BE SAFE

This needs to be corrected!
I would say the net mesh is perfect! The way this is designed, my little newborn blue eye plecos dove straight into the edges and died because they couldn't back up. I use it now with the net turned inside out and only mounted and tied around the top of the frame and put a little sand inside to weigh the net down... With the net inside out there is no seam for the babies to get caught and with it free inside and the frame outside there is no hard trap. I did carefully remove the blue pins on the top that hold the metal clips and then poke them through the net on the top to both have it tied around the frame and also held via the plastic pegs.

Poorly made, almost unusable
I read all the reviews and thought this was the best breeder for my molly. Most of these breeders seem to get lackluster reviews, so I thought I would take a chance on this one. It's cheap. For what I need, it's serviceable, but barely. I put it together easily enough until I got to the netting. It's too small. So the net only goes up to almost touch the top. The pictures on the box have it coming over the top four corners and therefore staying secure. It's just poorly made. Also the hooks don't really work for my tank. I have a 55 gallon, the standard kind. But the hooks aren't nearly long enough to hook over the top and have the net submerged. They aren't even long enough to actually hook over the frame on the the top. And then of course I wouldn't be able to close the lid all the way.So, I took a piece of styrofoam and created a float to hook the hooks on. I had to use a second piece on the front to compensate for the net not going all the way to the top. This effort was less than it would have taken to send it back, since everyone is complaining about all of them. Then I found out that mollies are pregnant for somewhere around a month (I thought she was really fat, but she's not anywhere near ready) so I let her out, and took the breeder out of the tank. When she is ready, I'm going to try replacing the netting with nylon stocking. Hopefully that will work.If you really need something and you are willing to get cheap and shoddy workmanship for a small amount of money, then go ahead. But if you want quality that will last, and work properly, this is not the breeder for you.

easy to assemble easy to use
I use this to raise my angelfish fry from wrigglers to about dime size. I hang it in the tank. The holes are pretty perfectly sized and the fish can't get out. I feed brine shrimp which will pass through the mesh and in addition to feeding the fry also feed the tank. Also no waste accumulates in the box it all passes through to the main tank. it would also work well for live bearing fry.

Not bad. I like it
My molly fry immediately started trying to commit life-off by swimming into the little gaps behind the frame and getting stuck in the mesh. Had to stuff gravel in there to stop them. Just make sure you put the mesh on nice and tight and stuff the cracks. Other than that it seems pretty sturdy and you can see into it pretty well. It fits nicely in my 20 gallon, just make sure the lid has space for the flexible metal straps that hold it on. The mesh is very fine and it's stretchy and durable. I'd probably go for a cheaper one next time but it does the job and has the best reviews. If you think this is the one then buy it. It's better than all the babies getting eaten. My fry count is down to five and I still have 3 pregnant mammas so hopefully I will end up with more fry now that I have a breeder net for them. Good luck!

It’s very good definitely recommend
Really like this so far, easy to assemble and mesh is very sturdy, maybe not the prettiest thing but keeps them baby’s safe.

Great for Guppy Fry
I needed something asap for a surprise bunch of babies and this did the trick. My one issue is that I wish this had suction cups instead of the metal side-holder things, because my adult guppies are adventurous and like to squeeze in against the back (no one has gotten snared, just a bit confused finding their way back out). It does feel a bit flimsy, but tightening the mesh solved that problem for me.

Excellent Value.
It won't last forever, but for the price I wouldn't expect it to. It does the job and is reasonably sturdy.
