The bag/pouch is a nice touch of class that can’t add significantly to the cost, and as some form of packing is necessary, it’s a lot better than plastic.First in Good Housekeeping comparative tests and review, so we take its performance on trust.Well made: as can be seen in the listing photos, all the seams are strong run-and-fell and the skirt fabric (polyester jersey) is more robust than that of either our quilted cover or heated under-blanket.It’s a perfect, drum-tight, fit on our 24cm deep super-king mattress. Made with a separate skirt (unlike a one-piece bottom sheet), the corners are curved – exactly matching our mattress. Once fitted, I did leave the bed otherwise unmade for several hours to allow the protector to stretch and lose its wrinkles before pulling it tight.The waterproof face material is no thinner than that from which our lightweight rain-jackets are made, but unlike them it doesn’t russle! Now that the wrinkles are gone, the face fabric has no stretch in it at all; however, the elasticated mesh skirt ‘gives’ so that the comfort of our lovely soft mattress isn’t affected.As it’s covered by a cotton quilted cover in summer and a heated under-blanket in winter, we don’t expect it to contribute to the comfort of our bed and mattress, but to completely protect them in the event of an ‘accident’ of any form. With both another cover and a 400-count cotton sheet on top of it, we don’t expect this protector to need washing before spring, when it’ll be able to dry naturally outside for a day.When it comes to washing the Panda cover, we shall NOT be tumble-drying it for fear of shortening the life of the PU layer.In case you’re wondering why we have both a waterproof protector and a separate quilted cover (or electric under-blanket), the answer is simple: I've never found any electric blanket which is waterproof and the range of Super King electric blankets is limited. In any case both covers need at least one sunny, breezy, day outside to dry and another day or two inside to become completely dry; how much longer if one side is waterproof?

does the job well, no rustling, no sweating

I was looking a a mattress cover that will stay in place. I didn't actually want a waterproof one but to be honest I don't think you notice it is waterproof. Stays in place which is what I wanted.

Feels lovely. Lightweight but strong. A bit pricey but excellent quality.

The protector itself is very thin, not what I expected. The packaging is very nice and that is what probably accounts for the expensive price. I would have preferred less attention to packaging and a friendlier price. However it fits the mattress and washed well. Also it doesn't make much of a crinkle sound when moving on top of it.

I purchased this item for my super king bed in 2022, my partner started having some accidents occasionally due to medical reasons and i thought this would be fully protective when it happened. it is quite expensive but i didn't want to scrimp when it came to something protecting my mattress, it felt soft and nice and didn't make any plastic sounding noises when you lay on it, however it was not waterproof at all.i had an expensive mattress topper underneath this and it was soiled with urine, it just soaked right through, the topper was too large to put into the washing machine so i put it in the bin and complained to panda via amazon, they told me it must have a fault and sent me out a new one.I got a new emma mattress in march of this year and put the new protector onto this also, my partner never had another accident until a few days ago and once again, the protector was NOT waterproof, it literally soaked my brand new mattress. now my new mattress is soiled with urine and im still struggling to get the smell out. it has now voided my warranty on the mattress.I complained via amazon to panda, who asked them to respond and compensate me for this situation, and panda have not taken any accountability or responsibility to this, they just say it is waterproof and dismissed my claims. they spoke to me on the phone and were quite unhelpful, offered me a new protector and pillow as an apology. i would never and will never use their products again, it does NOT work. it is all good and well these reviews of 5 stars saying it doesn't make a noise and feels nice etc but until you actually test the waterproof-ness of this and experience someone maybe having an accident in the night then it isn't a true reflection of how well, or if this product works.they have since refunded me the amount of the protector since but i am not pleased with this resolution at all and i am prepared to go to a small claims court regarding this. Avoid this product if you are looking for something for bed wetters or elderly people.
