SEOH ColorpHast 9590-3 Test Strips 0-14 pH (Box of 100) [Misc.]

I am Black and I have recently went natural with my hair. I tested all rhe products that I use on my hair from the shampoos & conditioners to the creams, oils & gels (commercial and homemade). I found that these PH strips were very accurate. It read the PH levels consistently and there were variation in the different products. Since I am newly natural I am making sure the PH balance are correct because my hair is in a a newly fragile stage and these strips worked perfectly. Easy to use and read with the chart. I was able to differiate the products with the most acidity and save them for later in my hair journey when my hair is stronger. Since there were 100 strips I am sure I may have to repurchase again later this year to monitor any new and ongoing products for the future. Great product!

As an Esthetics Instructor, I was looking for inexpensive 0-14 pH testing strips to use in the classroom. At 12 cents a strip, this was a great deal. The value was even better when I began to use them. The pH of the products we use on our skin is very important. Sometimes we want to raise or lower the pH, but we also want to make sure we are following that with the proper product to then neutralize the skins pH. Using these strips makes for a great visual aid and makes teaching (for me, and understanding for them) so much more effective. I have used them on many products I already knew the pH of, and every time they have been accurate. The no-bleed factor is great too, as I feel comfortable dipping the strips right into my product. So far, this product hasn't let me down. I will definitely be sticking with this product when it's time to reorder.

I have tried a lot of ph strips, and was recommended these by a friend. I am very pleased with the results - they are much more accurate than other brands I've tried, with many different ranges to choose from too. Despite the price I will be getting these from now on. Oh and note to others getting this - they sometimes put a massive label covering up a full side of the chart (which I thought was missing until I scraped off the packaging label to reveal the rest of the cart).

I contacted the company personally to tell me how to accurately use these test strips since it doesn't come with directions and what little was written on the package was a foreign language. Here's what they said..... General Procedure for the use of colorpHast Test Strips: This procedure is also printed on the color chart label. 1. Remove the strip from the box. 2. Immerse the reaction zone of the strip into the solution for approximately 3-5 seconds or until there is no further color change.** 3. Remove the strip from the solution, wiping the strip along the edge of the vessel to remove excess liquid from the strip. 4. Compare the reaction zones to the color chart on the box holding the strip to the top of the box with the reaction zones to the bottom of the box. 5. Record the results of the closest matching color to the strip. ** For weakly buffered solutions, an extended period of time may be necessary. In these cases, immerse strip until there is no further color change (1-10 minutes). Because the indicator is covalently bound to the colorpHast® strip, the test strip may be immersed in the solution for longer periods of time if necessary. I tested the strips using vinegar and definitely got an acidic reaction. I was getting concerned because pretty much every time I tested my dogs urine I was getting the same reading. So far I think they're accurate and they surely are easy to use!

Ordered this to test the pH of my hair products. I was looking for a pH testing kit that wasn't too expensive and had good reviews. This fulfilled my requirements (and Amazon prime rocks). I was so psyched to get it in the mail. First off, it's nice and small - easily stored and easy to use. pH sticks are strong yet flexible plastic. Instructions are on the box - diagrams. Dip your pH stick in the liquid for 2 sec and then match it up with the colors on the box (1 -7 on one side and 7 - 14 on the other side). So I emptied out my cabinet and confirmed that yes I am a product junkie. It was so great to finally know their pH and the pH of products that I will use in the future. So overall, I would most definitely recommend this product!!! Have fun!

The strips did not work. They gave the same reading regardless of the solution being an acid or base. Granted the strips were 'slow' to give a reading but then all the readings were the same. Now I purchased other strips which worked great. But I feel (after reading negative comments for various brands) that sometimes you do get a dud. Is it the company or do some batches not work? Im not sure. My suggestion is to get two different brands to see which is more accurate.

I bought these to measure pH in solutions used in natural dyeing. What I really like about these is the 4 color spots on each strip. They're not really replicates, but are reassuring. I also purchased a similar item at the same time and was pleased to see both products agreeing on the pHs of solutions. These ColorpHast strips will be my choice when I need to reorder, though: the shape and packaging make them so easy to use!
