This gets five stars because it works exactly as it should. However, it still is not perfect. Things I like: - Has a cover with a handle and holes for steam. The holes might be a might big that might lead to a little bit of splatter in your microwave, but I havent noticed anything significant in mine. - Large surface area - very easy to use Things that could be improved: - There is another similar gadget that has a pour spout for the grease, but they misplaced it, using a full side instead of a corner. I wish they would add a little bit of a pour spout on a corner to make it easier to pour out the grease, which you should do after EACH use. - The slats are still a bit shallow and parts of your bacon can end up sitting in grease a bit too much for my liking. (however, I understand this would make it harder to clean) - side walls could be a little higher to decrease chance of spilling when removing from the microwave. While this is by no means HARD to clean, I've determined the best and easiest way to clean this (especially if youre like me and you use multiple times in a row). If you have an electrical kettle (which everyone should have btw), boil about 4 cups of water, squirt some dish soap onto the tray, then pour the boiling water directly onto the tray and just let it sit there for a few minutes. Once that's done, the stuck on bacon remnants remove rather easily, and then you can either toss this thing in the dish washer or wash it yourself with a little elbow grease. While this thing is not perfect, it produces excellent bacon consistently. It reduces the mess DRASTICALLY when compared to cooking in a pan, and I honestly love this thing. Ive seen so many other microwave bacon gadgets try to do such a simple thing in many different ways. This one is by far the best, the simplest, and its only $9!!!!!!!!! Perfect gadget for me, even if its not perfect in itself.

Works well. But .... Cook "thick sliced bacon" because anything else sticks a bit to the tray. Our microwave is 1000w and we timed at 45 per seconds PER slice. Bacon was cooked to perfection, nice and crispy. Can't wait to use it with other foods. Would purchase again.

I didn't know microwave bacon cooking was a thing but it turns out it is and it works! It's easy to experiment to get the bacon exactly how you want it and once you get the microwave power and cooking time dialed in, it's repeatable and you can get the same perfectly cooked bacon every time. I love that! The bottom has little black specs in it which I originally thought was manufacturing dirt/grease but it was not, it was a part of the plastic. The bacon grill exactly fits the turntable in my Panasonic SA6515 microwave. It wouldn't fit in a smaller microwave. I hand wash my dishes and the grill is kind of a pain to clean but it is still easier than cleaning out the oven or stove top after cooking bacon. I think the lid could benefit from a re-design. The handle to remove the lid is flush with the top of the lid and even though it is textured, it's hard to grasp. Also, the underside of the handle is hollow and traps grease making it harder to clean. The plastic smell goes away after a few uses. In hindsight, it might have been a good idea to soak it in vinegar before using it. Overall, I'm satisfied with the grill, but not 5 star satisfied because of the issues I mentioned.

Great little gadget. I've had one for years and love it. Just bought this one as a gift. Bacon cooks quickly and evenly. easy soap and water clean up. No messy, greasy stove top or fry pan to clean up. Perfect.

I originally found this in Walmart and liked it very much. But Walmart no longer carries this, and I was happy to find it on Amazon. The reason I gave it 3 stars is that it is not always easy to clean. It stains easily. Also, I find that I am constantly adjusting the time to cook the bacon. But that might have to due to brand and/or thickness of the bacon strips.

Had one of these for almost 8 years, used it a few times a week. Had to replace it bc worries about plastics in my food but I love. Durable and easy to use.

I've had this microwave bacon "grill" for about two years now, and it has become one of the most used utensils in my kitchen since my husband and I started the carnivore diet last year. It is SO MUCH cleaner than frying bacon on the stovetop or cooking it in the oven. The lid definitely contains splatter, so the worst that happens to my microwave is that it smells like bacon when I'm done (and let's be honest -- is that really a bad thing??). Also, cleanup is super easy. Since we're carnivore, I save bacon grease, so all I have to do after putting the bacon on paper towels to drain is pour off the grease via one of the corners of the grill through a fine-mesh sieve (also lined with cheesecloth) into a glass or metal container, and then the grill can go straight into the dishwasher. I believe the instructions say top-rack dishwasher safe, but I don't use the drying cycle, so I have been able to safely put both pieces on the bottom rack and in two years, neither piece has warped. And they both come out completely clean every time! I was super impressed by that, since I figured there would be little bits hanging on in the low spaces. I also like that it's closer to square rather than oblong, so you can fit that fifth piece of bacon laid (more or less) flat onto it. The oblong ones may be long enough to stretch an entire piece out across the ridges, but most only fit 4 pieces. The description for this one says 4-6 pieces at a time, but no matter what brand I've bought, I've never fit more than 5 pieces in at a time. And since it's more square than oblong, I do have to wrap the very ends of longer pieces across the bottom edge of the pan, but that has never interfered with cooking it thoroughly. You just don't end up with completely straight pieces, but that is certainly no deal breaker for me. And cooking even one more piece at a time means fewer iterations to cook enough bacon for the whole family. For me, the limited number of pieces cooked at one time is the biggest drawback to microwaving bacon; sure, one tray full cooks faster (AND CLEANER!!) than stovetop or oven, but you have to do it more times to get more than one or two servings of bacon. If you're cooking one meal for one or two people, that's fine, but if you're meal-prepping for the week or have a bigger family, it gets more time-consuming. Cooking up a full pound of bacon usually takes me 3-4 rounds of cooking. But this is still not that big a deal: it's less time-consuming and messy than doing it on the stovetop, and at least I can be doing other meal-prep activities while it's cooking in the microwave,

This bacon grill is fantastic! The item was packaged well, good instructions and works as described. Cooks the bacon evenly and cleans up easily - (I've only washed by hand). The grill and lid are made out of solid material and seem to be of good quality. I have a larger turntable so it's no problem to turn with this large grill, but if your microwave is too small to turn with this grill you can turn the turntable off in any microwave by lifting out the centre piece under the turntable glass and once done just place it back (an appliance sales person taught me that trick). I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend the product.
