AEROXON Fruit Fly Trap Pack of 3

We've had good luck with German import in the past, but either there's something fundamentally different about UK fruit flies compared to German ones, or this is simply a useless product. What you get is a nicely packaged pyramid shaped sticky trap with a vinegar powered "attractor" which slots easily into its base. When we set it up as instructed, we didn't catch a single fruit fly in a week, in an infested kitchen. When I replaced the vinegar (which actually seems to repel the flies) with a piece of rotten fruit, we started to have some luck, but only at night, which leads me to suspect that the bright red sticky paper also repels the flies. Given that historically fly paper has always been yellow, this seems likely to me. Anyway, avoid at all cost. a loop of traditional fly paper does a much better job.
