My new favorite Red Pepper Powder!!!!!!! The flavor, texture!!! The spiciness can be tailored by how much you use. The flavor is YUM! I actually learned about this pepper through a chef who is Korean and through her Cookbook she said if you’re making homemade Kimchi ( which I made) to use this pepper… this is her favorite and I see why! It is very versatile in all dishes, including my Southern family dishes! The Quality for the price is great!I I will stock up more before the word gets out!!🤣

I'm happy to be able to get this product on Amazon! It makes wonderful kimchi! I don't know exactly what makes this different than, say, cayenne pepper flakes, but it does seem to have a darker flavor. This is about the same heat level as good cayenne. Do not use 'crushed red pepper' because that is cayenne mixed with dried red bell pepper to 'water it down.'For great kimchi, mix up a healthy handful of this along with about 3/4 as much rice vinegar and sesame oil combined to make a somewhat thin paste. It's not an exact science; I use the smell to tell me how much of everything is enough. Take a deep whiff; it should make you go, "Mmmmm...." Mix in a good, heavy dose of kosher or pickling salt and spread it all over a variety of chopped veggies, with Nappa cabbage as the dominant veg. I also like grated carrot, coarsely chopped onion and green cabbage. Broccoli works well, but it will maintain its own flavor. The pepper paste may not seem like enough for all your veg, but keep mixing it with your hands until the orange gunk is evenly coated over everything. Now take a taste. The first flavor to hit your tongue should be salt (but not too much salt) followed by a very tiny bite of vinegar and a good, smoldering back flavor of spicy heat. That just tells you that you have made enough paste and in the right proportions; the finished kimchi will taste better than this because the flavors will be married together. The veg should start to make liquid and break down in size. Store the mix in a stainless steel or glass bowl or, better yet, a ceramic crock at cool-to-room temperature for anywhere from 3 days to a week, covered with cheesecloth, stirring everyday to keep the veg moist in the juice. Basements are great places for this. As the mix ages, you should be able to detect a subtle ripening of the smell. You can also taste-test at any point.When the mix is sufficiently fermented (it should smell good, not bad), scoop it into containers and put it in the fridge. Kimchi will last a long time in the refrigerator. It's full of flavor and nutrients, it is vegan and has very little fat. It's a nutritional powerhouse and the taste is fantastic! Hint: try mixing it into some warm spaghetti over low heat (but be careful not to cook the kimchi, which will ruin many of its flavors) or, for non-vegans, use it in place of sauerkraut on a reuben! It is OMG delish!

I have a habit of ordering products before reading reviews and was worried that this would not be as I expected. It was fresh and spicy.....used it for my authentic kimchi recipe and also for my zuppa Toscana for a little kick and a beautiful color! I will definitely order this again!!

I love Kimchi and am originally from the states where I used to shop at a fantastic Korean market where you could actually buy Korean pepper flakes from Korea, not China. So needless to say I used to bring back the real Korean HOT pepper flakes. I have only been able to find the mild pepper flakes here in the UK. I recently finished the last amount of the real stuff from Korea so I decided to try this brand. I made my kimchi 3 days ago and it's been fermenting on my counter top. I just tasted it and it's utterly delicious and it's super spicy! I can't believe it. So as others have said, the more you add the spicier it will be. Mine is perfect for my taste. I was going to give it only 3 stars but having tasted my kimchi I can't do that. I know it's from China but the stuff form Korea isn't available here in the UK so in the end I'm really glad I tried this. The pepper powder is packaged in Korea so they are the country who is approving this to sell with their Korean brand name on it. They do have high standards in Korea so you can trust these pepper flakes do the job well! When this damn pandemic is over I'll travel back to the states and buy the Korean stuff again! But in the meantime I'm really happy with these pepper flakes. Btw, even H Mart here in the UK only sells the stuff from China so there's really no other option in the UK. Also, the ready made brands of Kimchi that are available here are terrible and full of sugar. I've been to Korea twice and believe me they don't have sugar laden sweet kimchi there. The real stuff is super spicy! Yum! I'm so thankful to have a brand new batch of spicy kimchi on hand. Will make more next week now that I know I like these pepper flakes! :)

Acheté pour faire mon kimchi. C'est une réussite le goût est comme le kimchi en pot que j'achetais chez le chinois. Attention car il est fort ( et donc economique) 3 cuillère à soupe pour un chou chinois complet suffisent.
