A few years ago I had received a few small bags of ground coffee that go on sale during the holidays. I forget exactly which one it was but the flavor and brew tasted perfect. It might have been the Ghirardelli brand and It was the best cups of coffee I've ever had. I own a Keurig and enjoy Starbucks coffee but this holiday pack of coffee seriously tasted the best. It was creamy, robust, and not bitter at all. With that said, Keurig and Starbucks brew excellent coffee but nothing compared to that once in a lifetime cheap gift bag. I have no idea why that coffee tasted amazing. All I can think of is the combination of beans, roast, grind, freshness, hint of chocolate and brew that made it the most enjoyable cup of coffee. Perhaps it was partially my morning breath or the amount of chemicals in the water that day, who knows. Anyway, onto the review of this organic coffee... I just got done drinking an entire pot of this stuff that was brewed in my percolator brewer, Texsport 9 Cup Stainless Steel Percolator Coffee Maker for Outdoor Camping and the coffee tasted fantastic! It reminded me of that once in a lifetime cheap gift bag coffee. I'm so thrilled since this coffee has become the best tasting coffee I've ever had. The reason I ordered this 2lb bag is because I want to save the Kcups for the weekday convenience and brew this on the weekends. My wife and I drink way too many Kcups during the week and need to come up with a new plan for our massive coffee consumption. During the weekend I end up drinking several Kcups and wanted to start brewing pots again which is the primary reason for the percolator. # Pros - Medium-dark was exactly as I expected. I like bold coffee but not burnt tasting like Starbucks and not weak like McD's. - Beautiful beans. Grabbed a handful for inspection prior to shoving them into the manual grinder. - By far the best tasting coffee brewed in my percolator. - Organic and I like what they are doing. - Best quality for the price. - Rich and creamy bold flavors, hint of chocolate. Not bitter or sour tasting. # Cons - None. With the pros and cons out of the way, I would like to mention; I'm no "coffee connoisseur" and don't pretend that I'm an expert in taste testing coffee. I simply enjoy drinking coffee. I remember that gift bag coffee being one of the best I've ever brewed. Sure I have a problem and need to have my morning coffee, my afternoon coffee, and evening coffee... I'm a software developer by trade and I drink a lot of coffee. The best coffee is the one that you remember and sure it could be McD's, Tim Hortons, etc... I've consumed a lot of coffee from numerous coffee shops here and have not experienced the "wow" moment like I did with that cheap gift bag coffee and I did with this. I have brewed so many different K-cups and the brands I enjoy the most are the Newman's Own and San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser. If you enjoy those brands, I recommend this coffee but please note, this coffee does not taste like the brands mentioned. For those wondering about brewing this in a percolator... I ground the coffee beans in a manual grinder - Most Consistent Hand Coffee Grinder & Coffee Press - Ceramic Burr Manual Coffee Grinder fits in Aeropress - set on a course grind setting (kosher salt). I use the water from my RO system. 1 heaping table spoon of grinds per cup. Watched the glass viewer on the percolator get to the right color. Pour and enjoy.

Organic, smooth chocolate notes, low acid, no stomach issues. My forever coffee
Number one great thing about this coffee is the chocolate taste that lingers. I make this coffee in advance, much stronger than recommended, store it in the fridge and use it as a concentrate over several days. I add cold whole milk to it and end up with a coffee/chocolate tasting milk drink. It’s simply delicious. It’s economical, too. It’s low acid, organic, and smells like heaven. When I open the bag, I end up wishing that I could breathe even deeper so as to prolong the enjoyment of its complex smell. I use a Vitamix blender on pulse to grind the beans, store them in a Mason jar in the cabinet away from light. I do a pour over method. I’m no coffee snob, this is just an easy way to get there. A funny thing is that I took it with me on a recent trip and made my own coffee in the hotel room. I had nearby hotel guests asking me what kind of coffee it was, as the smell was drawing them in, and I showed them the bag, they took pictures of it, and I even shared some here and there. The hotel manager asked, too, and I left him with the info and a jar of the beans since they had been so accommodating. I’m obviously a real fan. I’ve been buying it for a couple of years. This is the new standard for me that other coffees just don’t measure up to. No affiliation, just an appreciative consumer.

Aromatic & smooth, our main coffee
Truly one of our favorites! We just keep coming back to this coffee. We recently invested in an espresso machine and needed more beans than the standard bag was giving. This has low acidity, does not seem to upset my stomach, and is smooth to the taste! The aroma is so pleasant and you just look forward to making your coffee.

I like the fact it's organic, low acid & medium/dark. It's smoothe and tasty. I grind the beans for espresso and I'm relieved I like it!

Great coffee
I love this coffee. It’s smooth, not bitter. Good flavor. Not too light, not too dark.

Perfect for me
I give it 5 stars. I make my various types of coffee drinks with a Ninja Cafe 'Luxe. With this machine & these beans I am satisfied. If you are looking for an eclectic or unique flavored coffee this may not be for you. To me it is smooth & whatever I choose to mix with it seems to dictate what the overall flavor will be. Though I can drink it straight black & not be met with an overbearing, bitter or sour taste. After my 1st cup from the first bag I bought (just received my 2nd) I was thinking that maybe I needed a stronger "coffee" type taste but then this Subtle Earth quickly grew on me. For me it brings on a very nice smooth caffeine buzz. Long lasting, no jitters or anxiety, & no crash. Not bitter & extremely easy on my stomach. I've started to refer to this as my "Happy Coffee". I find myself being in a better mood since switching to this Subtle Earth brand. The bad part is that I can't stop drinking multiple cups a day. After my first 2lb bag was gone in a little over a week (2 people..though it's me with a problem) I decided to order a more unique flavor by Java. While it had a more robust flavor I found myself missing the Subtle Earth experience within 3 days & switched back. Keep in mind that my Ninja machine grinds & prepares my coffee perfectly.

Magic beans really DO exist
When I would accompany my mother at the grocery store, as a child and teenager, I would always avoid the coffee aisle. Straight up either refused to walk down it or covered my nose with a sleeve the entire time. I couldn't stand the smell of coffee. Fast-forward to adulthood. As an assistant, one of my job duties is to make the coffee for the office. Well, one day I guess I was just feeling dangerous. Risky. Maybe a little obstinate or rebellious-- I have tried coffee on several different previous occasions and just about spit it out in disgust every time. I tried the coffee at the office. It was terrible. I poured one of those creamer cups in there and some sugar, and it was bearable. The only reason I was drinking it was to wake up. Mornings are terrible like that. I learned that coffee makes a huge difference in my day. I went from never being a morning person, to being a morning person. I'm an afternoon and evening person, too, with the requirement that I have consumed enough caffeine. Yes, that means I bought a coffee maker and brew a couple cups in the late afternoon. But that's also because I bought some really delicious coffee beans. At first, I just didn't know what kind of coffee to get. Given that I have always believed it to have a pungent odor, I knew I would be very picky when it came to finding what beans to buy. That's where these magical beans come into the picture. This is my first purchase of coffee beans, and I know that I will never need to search again. I actually never thought that I would like the taste of coffee, or that there would be a type of coffee that I liked. I didn't know it tasted like anything other than "bad." And I don't want to throw anyone off, but I just can't place the taste. It reminds me of something sweet, something savory. If you don't like sweets, don't be turned off. I don't like a lot of sugar either, and can't stand sugar cookies or sweet wines (this is a whole other story for another day!). I bought the medium-dark roast, and found that my coffee maker brews this a little too watered-down for my taste. Luckily, I have a "bold" option on my machine, and now my coffee is so perfect that I don't need milk or sugar. Sometimes I do pour a little milk, just to cool it off a little faster so I am that much closer to having a drink of my perfect coffee!

Smooth, rich, enjoyable
First impressions, when I open the bag, of course you greeted with that wonderful coffee smell and also some very dark oily beans. Yum. I thought my less than top of the line burr grinder might have an issue with it, but as it turned out, it did not. If your weapon of choice is a blade grinder, I assume you’ll have the same level of success. Overall, a very pleasant and smooth cup of coffee and I like the fact that it is low acid as well. In order to avoid any hint of sourness, you might want to add a bit more coffee (or a bit less water) – unless you like your coffee light in which case you can ignore that advice. Overall, I would highly recommend this.

Excellent!
I ground the beans very fine and brewed the coffee very strong in a Moka espresso pot. The first sip sparkled and energised. There were pleasing high notes with depth and intensity of flavour to the last sip. The only caveat I have is that the packet was very big, like a catering packet. It will take me a long time to get through it and I worry that the beans may become dull and stale before I reach the end. For regular household use I think it would be better to buy 2 or 3 smaller packets at a time rather than one big one. However, I'm not sure if smaller packets are available.

Incredible Value
I didn't know what to expect from a coffee as cheap as this. When I opened the bag, it did smell pretty burnt. However, the first cup changed my mind. Actually pretty delightfull, did not taste overly burnt/bitter at all. Suprisingly smooth. The flavour doesn't have too much depth or is overly complex. But, it just makes a good cup of coffee. If this was double the price, I'd give it 3.5 stars. But, at this price point the value is phenonemal.
